Wow! I've played the original version a lot as a child and got pretty good at it. This game is with much better graphics but man, oh man! How did you manage to ruing the game experience that much? The combine the parameters together: the map-road-width + map size + obstacles + jumpiness of the car (suspension?) + traction + acceleration + top speed, these are incompatible with normal joyful driving one could experience in Generally 1. So much potential, so much disappointment! ---------------- UPDATE August 2026 ------------------ Development keeps ignoring the good things that the original game did right. Forces and accelerations do not get dumped properly by traction and friction. Cars constantly oversteer or understeer during turns. Right now, the skill 5 of a bot has superior control of what any human can achieve all because of the game speed and unbalanced forces and accelerations. Still do not recommend this game!

This game is sick tight.

Gene Rally 2 is a fantastic call back to top down racers of the past. The community of people who actively play the game have made it highly re-playable and I highly recommend it to people who want an easy to pick up hard to master arcade racer.

A childhood classic remastered! I support this developer fully and am willing to help with development myself!

A huge improvement on the original! With the addition of workshop support AND online play, this might be one of the best top-down racers ever made.

Bought it mainly to "ride along" and support the project, so I'm aware of its state. But until it's 100% possible to navigate everything with a controller I cannot recommend this game. It's too much of a hassle just to play a few races with someone. At the moment I'd just rather play the original game. Don't get me wrong. I have high hopes for this game. But the current state is what it is. It's in early access.
