God For A Day

After putting a good amount of time into the games this game likens itself to, I can't bring myself to recommend it. The decisions you make, which is 90% of the game, hold no real weight aside from a quick social media blurb and an in game achievement that is buggy and will likely reset itself. It reset my whole save on my 11th or 12th appraisal. The other 10% of the game is a hidden object game, and I cant recommend that either because you're searching for "suspicious" things but it comes down to clicking everything on screen for a minute or two until all you have is a lackluster puzzle to solve for your key piece of evidence. I've seen other reviews compare this to a game you'd play for free for an hour on new grounds and never again. If my review hasn't driven you away yet, at the very least pick this up on sale, I think the asking price of $13 is steep while it contains bugged progression and lacks the depth of similar game that are a better deal.

Damn haven't played a game this bad in a while!

i would like to preface by saying i personally didn't like the game. the gameplay itself is just a click and search, but less fun than iSpy due to both the lack of direction towards what i'm supposed to find and the lack of difficulty in finding it; i can just click around the entire screen and usually i'll get everything on the first go around. i think i only looked up a walkthrough for one item on one single character. as well as the gameplay issues, i found issues with the writing, but that's personal preference. that being said, if that's your kind of thing and you have a more irreverent sense of humor, this might be for you. i can't not recommend it just because i didn't have fun if i could see how someone would have fun. on top of that, it's clear there was a lot of effort in the art direction, and i can see the potential behind this developer, so i dont want a completely negative review to be the nail in the "i don't make games anymore" coffin. keep making games. keep refining your style, talk to other developers, and find what makes people come back for more. i hope to see better things from you in the future. i'll be looking forward to it.

Interesting and humorous, but a play through might be about an hour.... so maybe worth $5 on sale.
