Fata Deum - The God Sim

I dont often write Reviews, but I have to for this. I was hoping this would quench my Want for Black & White 2 again, because its no longer easily available. And to my surprise it does. It feels like an inbetween of the 1st and 2nd Black & White game, like a 1.5 which also makes it stand out as its own Unique game, but still fill that want/need that the Black & White games used to exclusively fill. There is a lot of Potential here, and it is very early access. Like it is still Janky and such, but I find it absolutely worth it if you dont want to go through the hoops that is required to get the old games this is based on. I hope they keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!

Horrific controls. How the hell do i let go of something once i grab it? Why is hold left to open menu the same as grab object?? Why is there no short key to let go of object.

Fata Deum is the best god game out there. It's really good, and the alignment system isn't just "good" and "bad"—it's even better than Black & White in that regard. I think the meta in this game is a good combination of all the available moralities. However, I think it needs more customization regarding the player's god. At the very least, it needs a color change; it's weird to be a fully demonic, Dark-Lordish god while the player model still looks good. I would encourage other players to ask for more player colors and/or textures. Personally, I think elemental orbs should have more uses, like creating gold or iron instead of only stone. This would allow players to play with one megacity instead of relying on different interconnected villages to reach the best stuff. I would also add a mechanic for terrain aspect changes—like making it look like Mordor or Hell, another option for a more necromantic theme, another for a more natural look, and another for a more holy and golden aesthetic. I love your work! And for the other reviewers, this game is a work in progress in Early Access, and updates are coming steadily.

Far from finished. I played on ultra cycled through various graphics settings and still glitching, stuttering and needs alot of work. The shaders are very dark and no place to adjust it at all. The textures are a bit pixelated and doesnt generate well at all. Id really recommend you look into a more modern engine as there is definite room for improvement. Dont regret buying it and am hopeful, but needs alot of work. Older games have better quality so for the time being I wouldnt recommend anyone buys this game until its more stable and playable.

Some people just want a clone of "that game" from childhood, and this game is a victim of that need. PC Gamer really hurt this game with that review. I hope this game does well, but I purchased in between an update cycle, just before a new update, and did not want to have a dead game. This is not dead and the Devs are seemingly very active. I hope to see this game see its true dream!

Very disappointed, very long way to go before there is even slighly something here........ Missed my refund period!
