This is the type of game I would expect to see on XboxLive Arcade in like 2012. It's... fine. It doesn't have the momentum of Hotline Miami. nor does it have the story. Nor the complexity. Nor the soul. I'm not a fella who's DYING to play Hotline Miami clones with shallow level-up mechanics. But it's inoffensive and short, so if you get it for free (or got it in Humble Choice), it's not an entire waste of time.2 found this helpful
⭐ “Fast, Brutal and Stylish — One of the Most Underrated Top-Down Action Games” 🇺🇸 English

🎮 Introduction God's Trigger hooked me within the first few minutes. At first it looks like a straightforward top-down action game, but once the combat clicks, it becomes an addictive mix of speed, precision and controlled chaos. It feels somewhat similar to classic fast-paced arcade shooters, but with its own identity and strong focus on aggressive tactical gameplay. 🔥 Gameplay The combat is easily the strongest part of the game. Every character has unique abilities, and the game constantly encourages creative and efficient kills. You can go in guns blazing, set traps, chain abilities together or improvise when things go wrong. The pacing is relentless. One small mistake can get you killed instantly, but it rarely feels unfair. The game rewards fast reactions, positioning and quick decision-making. Co-op mode is also fantastic and makes the chaotic encounters even more enjoyable. What I really liked is how the arenas are designed around experimentation. There’s almost always a faster, cleaner or more stylish way to clear a room. 🎨 Graphics & Audio …1 found this helpful
A Lot of Trial and Error, did Not enjoy it Most of the time. The perspective was not ideal and the design sometimes hard to read. Maybe it was a problem of the small screen of the steam deck. Music was also a bit repetitive and not really good.
I won this game recently on SteamGifts, so I decided to give it a try. I really like 12 Is Better Than 6, which is a similar style of game but has a lot more going for it than God's Trigger. I don't exactly know what the goal was here. It feels like the game tries to be a lot of things at once but fails at every single one. The difficulty is not balanced at all, relying more on luck than actual skill. On top of that, there is a very annoying mechanic for keyboard and mouse users that can legitimately drive you insane.
Gameplay Chaos & Pointless Mechanics
The game threw several technical issues my way, which only amplified the unbalanced difficulty. The skill tree system felt completely pointless to me, as most of the cooldown reductions and duration buffs do not make a noticeable difference in gameplay. In a game where being half a second late means instant death, the frequent stutters become a massive issue. To make matters worse, the developers botched the keyboard and mouse controls. Instead of your mouse aiming independently, the aim follows your character's physical movement. You can easily guess how frustrating and annoying that gets. I hate to keep comparing, bu…
