✦ AI summary
Players praise this game for being very enjoyable and accessible, with forgiving hit detection that allows full enjoyment even when using difficult input methods like a mouse or trackpad instead of a tablet. The main complaint is that the unlock conditions for "Gachi" mode could use more hints or guidance to help players discover it.
GOGO! is a niche title that confidently embraces its educational roots while packaging them in a format that feels more like a challenge game than a traditional study aid. Developed and published by Micelle, the game revolves around a deceptively simple concept: writing Japanese kanji by hand and proving your knowledge through a variety of increasingly demanding modes. Rather than teaching the language from the ground up, it serves as an interactive test of memory, recognition, and speed, making it particularly appealing to players already invested in learning Japanese. Its specialized focus means it will never appeal to everyone, but it excels at delivering exactly what it promises. The game's primary mechanic relies on handwriting recognition, asking players to manually input kanji and compound words instead of selecting answers from multiple-choice prompts. This approach immediately makes the experience feel more engaging and personal. Writing a character correctly creates a satisfying sense of accomplishment, especially when dealing with more complex symbols. The recognition system judges characters based on their overall appearance rather than strict adherence to stroke order…2 found this helpful
Been learning Japanese for more than 2+ years mainly for reading online novels in Syosetu and Kakuyomu and stopped my kanji reviews in favor of just reading more for 6+ months. This game gave me a wake up call by making me fail many times in エンタメ ノーマル mode dozens of times and barely reaching the 16th 問題 making me go back to studying my kanji again. Very fun tho especially the music and the adrenaline you get from the timer! Would recommend as a fun game, some kind of kanji study, and as a fun thing to talk about to with other JP learners.2 found this helpful
とても楽しいゲームです。判定は結構優しくできるため、タブレットがなくても書きにくいマウスかトラックパッドでもゲームをフルで楽しめます。 一つ申し上げると、「ガチ」モードの解禁条件についてのヒントはもう少しあってもいいと思います。2 found this helpful
drawing the mona lisa from memory would be easier1 found this helpful
