About Grave Knight

Under developement, Grave Knight is an interactive RPG adventure inspired by SRD 5.1 ruleset and classical game books, where your decisions weave the fate of the characters and the story. Let the dice forge the fate of your hero and the realm by fighting the Grave knight and his horde.

Grave Knight is a Visual Novel, an interactive RPG-style adventure game, where your choices will determine the path in which the story and characters will develop. Do you save the heroine or let her die? Do you talk to the monsters or face them? Do you take the left or right path? Do you take any chances to save someone, regardless of the consequences or do you let them suffer a cruel fate until death? The fate of the narrative and the world is in your hands (or in the fortune determined by the dice rolls...).

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's core concept as a text-based story with meaningful choices and decent value, along with the developer's responsiveness to feedback. However, the game suffers from significant technical and presentation issues including missing or incorrect text panels, confusing narrative flow, UI problems like a missing menu system, and a critical bug where choices appear in Portuguese instead of English, making progression frustrating and unintuitive despite its potential.

Original review: Play the demo first! I didn't and will refund if I don't hear back from the devs I have heard back from the dev, its a one person outfit and he was not aware that there were questions to answer in the forum. Some of the complaints have been handled, although the game is still not exactly intuitive at the moment and I still cannot see a menu. However the games saves as you shut down, regardless of how you do it. I'm not sure yet how you would access any of those previous saves, but that could be my ignorance. I'm fence-sitting at the moment and have tried playing on and am happy to give the dev the benefit of the doubt as this has the potential to be an interesting game. There are certainly plenty of choices to make even if I have no idea what difference they make further into the game. Read the discussion questions and answers and see how you feel about it. I would still advise playing the demo first but you may find it could be well worth investing a bit of time and money into it even in its current state!

Sadly while there is the core of an experience that's value for money I can't recommend it due to it's issues. Good news is they shouldn't be to hard to fix by the developer. Bad news is considering when this game was released I can't see that happening. I will update this review appropriately if it does The is a text based story with static images to set the scene. Lets start with the Major issues The telling of the story (See forum post for more details). - In the merchant road section text panels are missing or it uses incorrect panels which is confusing, what is going on. At one point I got a game over, but what I just read did not indicate why. - At the climax of the game when playing in English all the choices are in Portuguese. So you have to use google translate typing each pair of choices. - At the climax depending on how you got there you can be offered a choice and it uses the wrong characters name which completely changes what you think the choice is and what might happen by selecting it. Graphics - if you try to jump the river I hope you liked the artwork of Donothan in the river, as you will be seeing that image a lot from that point onwards instead of …
