Gravity is a straightforward physics-based puzzle game with 100 levels where players arrange blocks to guide falling objects toward a button, featuring solid physics mechanics and a pleasant piano soundtrack. While it offers substantial content and some genuinely clever puzzles, players find the game overly simplistic and repetitive, with basic visuals, no hint system, and an easy difficulty that only picks up near the end, making it feel somewhat incomplete compared to similar classics like The Incredible Machine.
Difficulty : 1.5/5 (Easy) Global : 1.5/5 (Decent) Curator page : Anokturnus Gravity is a classic physics-based puzzle game, you place obstacles and the goal is to make something hit the red button in the level. Except for a few levels at the very end (level 100 is a bit absurd but doable), the game is easy and never requires perfect setups. I've really nothing more to say, there are no special mechanics or anything really noteworthy. If you like this kind of game, you'll have fun with Gravity but nothing groundbreaking.7 found this helpful
TLDR A very basic physics game, building structures to make objects push a button, 100 simple levels. [5/20⭐, 4h🏅, 2/5💡] Context Gravity is a physics-based puzzle game about placing blocks to make sure spawning objects reach a target. It can be seen in the style of The Incredible Machine (or more recent incarnations Crazy Machines) but limited to one kind of object. In fact, the game is very limited in terms of gameplay, and doesn’t really feel like a fully-fledged game. Writing There is no plot, you’re just given a list of puzzles to solve. Aesthetics The visuals of the game (essentially scaffolds on top of a blueprint) are very rudimentary, and the soundtrack (comprised by about 3 tracks) felt repetitive and a bit intrusive. Gameplay In every level, an object (either a ball or self-propelled car) is spawned which must be led to eventually push a button. To achieve this, you place objects in the map. The available objects vary from level to level, but they are limited to blocks of different shapes, which quickly makes the gameplay feel repetitive. Level design was often con…3 found this helpful
Gravity is a physics-based puzzle game where the goal is to push the button by placing different blocks in clever ways. While the game offers plenty of content, the experience can feel repetitive over time. Though it may appeal to fans of physics simulations, the game’s visual design and gameplay issues prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Pros:
- plenty of levels – with 100 puzzles, there’s no shortage of content - pleasant piano music – the calming soundtrack creates a relaxing atmosphere - solid physics simulation – the well-executed physics engine ensures the game runs smoothly without any bugs in this area
Cons:
- no hints – getting stuck on certain levels can become frustrating, especially with no hint system to offer guidance - completionist achievements – you only earn them for completing a certain number of levels, which may limit the sense of accomplishment for players looking for more varied challenges - awkward controls – the controls are not very polished, and the snapping mechanic often feels imprecise - repetitive gameplay – despite the number of levels, the puzzles start to feel ver…3 found this helpful
8/10 Physics-based puzzle TLDR: Arrange blocks, balls and other elements so that the initial impulse of a falling ball would eventually lead to pushing/touching of a button on the other side of the level. Solid and varied puzzles, even if with somewhat basic looks. Good: + 100 levels, interesting puzzles. Level 26 is genius + very pleasant contemporary piano music tracks in the style of Ludovico Einaudi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1oZk_1saFQ). If the dev owns the rights, I'd recommend selling the OST separately So-so: +/- rotating pieces with 2 mouse buttons held might not have been the best choice, as it doesn't work on touchscreen and also would prevent porting such a game to mobile +/- graphics are very basic 2D. I guess it's not a big deal for an indie puzzle game. Though of course, had it had stylish gfx, it would have far more sales +/- no story or characters (e.g. instructors) or actually any text make this game look somewhat lifeless and cheap - though again it wouldn't be a big deal for a puzzle, right? Except when you want the game to be pleasing beoynd the intellectual domain +/- Shift key should allow dragging the piece thru obstacles even if Shift is pressed a…
6/10. Physics-based puzzler with rolling balls and sticks that can form platforms or be knocked over. This is the kind of puzzle genre that was very popular in the early days of the iPhone but has sort of disappeared since. It’s also somewhat reminiscent of The Incredible Machine if every level involved bowling balls. While not the most novel thing in the world, I did enjoy playing it. That was moderated somewhat by the fact that the first 29 levels were mostly trivial, requiring nothing more than doing the obvious thing in almost all cases. Perhaps that’s because this is such a familiar genre (to me). Probably they would feel more challenging and novel if this happens to be new to you. There are 100 levels so there’s still plenty of content even if the first 30% are overly easy. The controls are pretty good. Touch screen works perfectly, and it’s also ok to play on a laptop with a touchpad, though every movement requires click+drag which isn’t the most ergonomic. That said it seems to be designed with a 3 button mouse and keyboard as the ideal input device and probably is the most pleasant that way. In particular rotating the pieces requires pushing them up against nearby wal…
