What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the solid gameplay, impressive graphics, and strong campaign that marks a return to classic Halo feel, with particular appreciation for the forge mode's creative potential. However, they're frustrated by a shrinking player base that makes matchmaking difficult, persistent technical issues including login problems, and a battle pass-heavy monetization system that feels restrictive for cosmetic unlocks. The overall sentiment suggests a good game hampered by poor management, declining population, and monetization decisions that undermine the experience.
TLDR; Great game -- horribly underpopulated, monetized and managed This is a good game. However, the state of the game is bad. There aren't enough players to have even matchmaking so you just end up playing again hardcore players in a game mode you don't want to play. The game itself is great: graphics are great, campaign was decent, multiplayer is classic Halo, and now that forge is fleshed out there is that chaotic fun factor we all remember from Reach. The customization system is... for lack of a better word, abysmal. It's all battle pass based, which is just so objectively un-fun for earning cosmetics.
can't even get past the login screen anymore
It's great. The gameplay is tight, customization has never been better, and the art style is a great blend of 343i and Bungie Halo games. The campaign is great as well as the character performances. The campaign felt like an indirect, sincere apology from 343i for the direction they took in Halo 5. A great soft reboot of the series that keeps me cautiously optimistic for the future of one my favorite gaming franchises. Here's to campaign evolved
TRASH!
