i really wanted to like this game. ive had it on my wishlist for ages. its just eh. the story is not interesting, i found myself skipping dialog by the 3rd act. you get 3-4 missions per day going to the same 4 planets doing the same thing over and over again. extract this ingrediant, hunt down this special monster, "cook this meal for me". i again found myself rushing through missions to get them over with. there was no passion in making this game, no creativity, an extremly missed oppurtunity this game couldve been. im still playing as i write this review finishing up act 3, only finishing the game because i have nothing else better to do and i hate wasting money. 4/10

Hangry is a third person hack and slash action game. The game has a trainer that helps the player better control the mercenary. There is a fair selection of foes of varying difficulty to encounter. The graphics are fine and the action animation is excellent. The game uses cut scenes to develop the story. I have played this from prerelease to early access to help the developer iron out any festering bugs. The game is now in early access and I am continuing to play test this game. I played this on my Dell Precision 3480 with Intel Xe Arc graphics and RTX A500 graphics. This game is best with a controller. Some mouse actions do not work properly.

Tutorial was not clear enough on what to do and after and hour there was still new things to learn that serve a unique purpose not useful for main gameplay loop. Level design felt repetitive with levels being different only by enemies and theme. Progress doesn't feel rewarding enough to keep pushing through the campaign

Very positively surprised. Always had a soft spot for levels in games that were based on food. But an entire game with food-based levels, AND creatures? I was immediately bought the moment I saw the trailer for Hangry. Though I must admit that gameplay-wise at first I felt that it might get boring really fast. Just kill monsters, cook and that's all. And while on the surface this might be it, the different weapons helped in variation but what truly won me over was the cooking recipes system. As not too long into the game, I wanted to gather all the ingredients, cook all the recipes, scan all the monsters. Getting on the same planets several times was never tiring. Which for me is even stranger, as I never really were a big fan of crafting in games. But here, the cooking recipes system really had me engaged to solve how it works and to finally succeed in cooking all the 130/130 recipes. Though it's a shame that there is no NG+ but really hope it will get added eventually. Played on lowest settings so can't say much about graphics, as this wasn't really my goal here. Though personally I loved and admired the art style, monsters design, colorful worlds and the look of ingredients …
