How in tarnation is it possible that my PC lags while playing a 2d top down pixel graphic shooter? Is this some bitcoin farming trick or something?

Not for me at this price point, the voice acting can charitably be described as "ok", but it along with the text to speech AI booming out at you every few minutes gets irritating pretty quickly. Second mission I notice a bug where attempting to hire the fourth worker will take the resources and count the timer down, but never add the fourth worker.

Harvested is a very ambitious and unusual game, being a hybrid of top down shooter, survival/crafting/mining, RTS and tower defense. And there's no reason such a game couldn't not only work, but excel. However, excellence is more than a product of just a unique game concept, it must be paired with the other aspects of game development that are absolutely necessary... high quality visuals, audio, and professional levels of polish, all of which are lacking here, and that's what's lead to this game objectively failing. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. The game features somewhat lazy, simplistic "retro" looking 2D graphics, and it's hard to say if this is due to the age of the assets used, if it's a deliberate attempt for the game to look bad/retro on purpose, or if the assets are just, well, terrible looking. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game in 2024, such poor quality 2D graph…

This game is broken. It will crash on level 3 every time so that is as far as you can play... This should be removed from the store as fraud. It would have been an decent game if it wouldn't crash.

It is clearly an unfinished Game Maker project (beware), yet I only played the sandbox mode and I love the concept. Gameplay summary: You start off alone. You harvest resources (no grinding or timegates) to build your base. You can then recruit miners, lumberjacks, and soldiers. You can add turrets, healing tiles, traps, walls, and other defences. You then need to survive. It's an RTS, base builder, and top-down shooter. If you're like me and you enjoy non-predefined linear route base defence games, then you will also love this. It's a gem and I love it. Unfortunately, the game has crashed twice, does not have autosave, you can pay to recruit over the limit but you won't get the unit, and the farmer units are buggy (take 5+ seconds to initiate action and do not follow your Farm commands in some cases). The game does need more content and work by the dev, though. My issues: - We NEED an Autosave feature especially since there are way too many crashes. There is no way the developer can play this without getting a crash. I have had 4 crashes in less than 2 hours. - Pathfinding is pretty bad. Builders will not build for unknown reasons and they more often than not get st…

Harvested gives me that nostalgia of getting lost in the mechanics of something completely different. The limitation of having to move a character to interact with anything in what is essentially an RTS creates a very interesting take on the genre. That being said the voice acting and the GUI could definitely use some work.
