About Heart&Slash
Heart&Slash is a 3D brawler that is set in a world where machines are all that remains from the Human civilization.
You play as Heart, an innocent robot fighting to escape the grip of the evil and all seeing machine QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems).
But make no mistake Heart&Slash is a hard game. Every death is permanent and means a new randomly generated level for you to start over with a different set of weapons and items you can use, new enemies to fight and secrets to explore.
Heart&Slash is an indie game developed by a small but passionate team. We have a tiny budget but big hearts, and we are giving it all to make this game (our first) the best we can.
Features (on final release):
-3 worlds to explore and fight in. Each world includes its unique enemies an bosses.
-Dozens of different weapons and equipment pieces (more than 100 in total) to customize Heart and your play style.
-Perma-death, but a persistent progression system that gives you more options as you play the game.

I am sorry, the art is MARVELOUS, the designs are AMAZING and the music is GORGEOUS but the gameplay is INSUFFERABLE. I absolutely love this game but it is a GIANT pain to play.6 found this helpful
i think my lack of playtime is the biggest teller here— unfortunately i couldn't find myself enjoying this game, down to the tutorial. don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of the story and the visual style! as for the gameplay itself, it's incredibly weak. i played with a controller, and the controls felt very stiff and unpolished. it got to the point where i felt like refunding the game rather than stick with something i wasn't enjoying. a cute game with a lot of potential, just not for me!1 found this helpful
While this might not exactly speak to Heart&Slash's quality, the word "Rogue" when it comes to games is almost always a turn-off, and yet... I got almost all the items in-game and reset my progress just so I could do it all again. This is one of the first games I will practically shill to somebody when the topic of Hidden Gems or even just game recommendations come up. I love the art style to pieces. I love the lively animation of every character and enemy. I love the story of Heart, I honestly wish we had more of it. I very much enjoy both the combat and level design. I love this game.1 found this helpful
