Heart&Slash

underrated gem (gay robots <3)

The game has a lot of Heart(&Slash), but passion alone can't carry a poor foundation. The movement is stiff and twitchy, the combat is weightless and spammy, the items aren't interesting, and the levels are much too large for their own good. I feel like the game would have worked much better if it was designed as a traditional hack'n'slash instead of the roguelite it wound up as.

I have not beat this game yet but went up to the second big boss named Goliath. First five hour that hooked here are my impressions on this game fighting is a bit janky but I love it for that. Study the enemies npc attack patterns and they get easier to read. I did ran through some doors and skip entire fights to straight to the boss not recommend kill enemies to upgrade your gear! The nice amount of weapons are awesome to combo and hold three weapons at once is dope to switch on fly by holding either left shoulder button or right shoulder it can all be combo nicely but like I mention earlier it gets janky when you try to! Welp I'll come back to visit to kick that second bosses butt in a year or soemthing!

Such a insanely ambicious title, great game that pioneered the "x but a roguelite" subgenre (in this case being DMC being x) and actually delicering a GOOD product.
