Hexia

Hexia is a little strategy game with a narrative component, developed by Black Mastiff Studio, a team formed by two italians. The current version requires a little bit less than 1 hour to complete the only campaign available, but it gives you a strong idea on how the game works, in the current stage. You need to complete objectives, investigate on other kingdoms and face several threats. At the moment the game is very easy, and you cannot do much, but considered it's still in early access, let's see how it progresses, as the game really have potential to be a very simple but fun strategy game. :)

don't buy the game based on the published screenshots or for the love of hexagons because they are gone with the next update (march 2023) and replaced by squares. i know this may sound weird to some people and i understand this is early access but this is another example of a disrespectful developer taking away a game defining feature or look that customers have paid for. i personally would never got this game if not for the hexagons. i'm curious if they are bold enough to rename the game to "squaria". p.s. hexagons are the bestagons.

Hexia is an abandoned Early Access low poly real-time strategy game where, had the game been completed, you would have spent your time spending "hexia" on buying hexagons around your castle. You can upgrade the hexagons to little or no meaningful effect. You also get hammered with various 2-choice RNG events where each decision has a small but pointless effect. Once you get past the tutorial you are told the next chapter isn't finished yet, that's all there is to this. The game was abandoned less than a year after launch and hasn't been updated in over a year and a half. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game without any notification or admission of failure from the developer. There's no reliable indication the game will ever be completed, which is a reason for gamers to avoid this. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put …

No idea what's going on in this game. This badly needs a tutorial or better in game help. I have no idea how anyone who isn't on the dev team plays this game.

the game has potential, the game loop is entertaining, the graphics are nice, the music accompanies, I haven't noticed any bugs or fps drop (I play with integrated graphics), there are some things to solve regarding the menus and other aspects that will surely be solved in the final version.
