Hexle

High quality minimalist puzzle game. Sudoku at its core, but the hexadecimal system mixes it up enough to stay interesting. The background music and mildly animated background are well suited to the genre and make the whole experience engaging.

Hexle, developed and published by PUNKCAKE Délicieux, is a tightly designed logic puzzle that takes the familiar structure of Sudoku and reshapes it into something more technical and demanding. On the surface, it presents a clean grid and a simple objective—fill in the missing numbers—but the rules governing those placements quickly reveal a deeper, more layered system. By combining traditional number-placement logic with additional constraints inspired by hexadecimal and binary relationships, the game transforms a recognizable formula into a more intricate mental exercise. The core gameplay revolves around carefully placing numbers within a grid while respecting multiple overlapping rules. As in Sudoku, each value must remain unique within its row and designated sections, but Hexle adds extra limitations that restrict how certain values can coexist. This is literally the best variant of sudoku I've ever played, this is more than worth the price to me. I understand it's not for everybody, but you can try the demo out to see if you like it. (I actually just played the demo for a while and mainly decided to buy the game to use a theme other than the default light theme)

Hexle is a very simple game. There's no story, no fancy graphics, no fancy audio, nothing. It's just numbers and letters (hexadecimal digits to be precise) in a grid. There are no surprises. There is no mystery. It's not even a guessing game. Every puzzle can be solved logically, if you're patient. All of the above are selling points for me. Sometimes I need something that isn't very challenging that I can point my over-active brain at while I process feelings and such. If you need something safe to play in this world of engagement, shock factor, Skinner boxes and tropes, look no further. You found it.
