Highway Cleaners, developed and published by Voxel Bytes, is a fast-paced vehicular action game that builds its identity around chaos, speed, and survival. It places players in a hostile, post-apocalyptic environment where the road itself becomes both a battleground and a lifeline, blending elements of arcade driving with combat-focused gameplay. Rather than following the structure of a traditional racing game, it shifts the focus toward endurance and destruction, creating an experience that is driven more by momentum than by precision. The core gameplay loop revolves around navigating dangerous highways while fending off waves of enemies and avoiding environmental hazards. Players control a weaponized vehicle, constantly balancing movement with offensive action as threats approach from multiple directions. The game encourages an aggressive playstyle, rewarding players who stay in motion and actively engage enemies rather than attempting to avoid conflict. This creates a sense of urgency that defines the experience, as every moment requires attention and quick reactions. Combat is integrated directly into the driving mechanics, making it a central part of how the game unfolds. We…

I'm not saying it's a bad game... but if someone said it, I would totally agree with him. During my playtime, the game felt pretty meaningless, the engine of the truck was barely audible and I didn't like the upgrades either, how they were implemented. Or at least that is what I remember. But for example Zombie smasher is a similar one, but cheaper and definitely more enjoyable.

Video review here: https://youtu.be/Ye40KQWh9kY Wanna love it, but concerned about some physics issues. In three playthroughs, two ended because of the vehicle flipping. In the video above, I believe it was because of one zombie. Also, engine upgrades are generous with power but seem to make the physics issues even worse. Lot of potential here though, I'm excited for the prospect of other types of vehicles, a bigger play area, or new upgrades/pickups. This has some issues that need attention, but with a little love it's actually really worth continuing work on it and fleshing out the areas that work well. As it stands, I'd still say it's a fun little game worth the $2.99 price. Thanks for the experience!

This feels like someone's first attempt at a game, and if it is, its not a bad one. The truck picks up speed way too quickly and the turning needs to be tweaked, but beyond that its fine. The cards that are supposed to pop up after each level (according to the description) were instead showing up randomly and I killed more zombies through running them over instead of with weapons. Needs some polishing but it was fun to mess around with.
