Simply phenomenal. This breathtaking experience is unlike anything experienced by mankind. This game is proof that God is real. No human is capable of the pure joy this game produces. I must warn you, if you play for too long you will become entranced and you will never be able to stop playing. I had to stop after a mere 0.2 hours because my mortal brain cannot comprehend the level of beauty and wonder this game provides. If I had to donate my life savings to play this game I would, but the developers priced it at a bargain of 79 pence. If you do not have this in your steam library already you have not experienced living. You NEED this game, your soul requires it.

Warning: GameGuru Asset Flip!
Hiking Simulator 2017 is a what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" bought the GameGuru first person shooter construction kit (no coding required, it's just a GUI!) and cobbled out a map or two using stock GameGuru assets... nothing in this game can fully be called the creation of the developer, and yet they also failed to credit GameGuru or acknowlegde any of the GameGuru assets. They're trying (badly) to pass someone else's work as their own. It's just a bunch of random GameGuru assets dropped around a really lazy, stock textured GameGuru map template. This is possibly the laziest GameGuru asset flip I've ever seen... usually the "developer" at least tries to make an FPS game of some kind with a bunch of stock, asset flipped GameGuru asset enemies. The "developer" didn't even bother here... you don't get a gun, there's no enemies, you just walk around a map with a few random trees dropped on it. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, h…

Hiking Simulator 2017 is a minimalist walking simulator that leans heavily into the idea of quiet exploration, inviting players to slow down and simply exist within a series of open outdoor environments. Developed and published by Shoho Games, the game positions itself as an antidote to high-pressure, objective-driven experiences, offering instead a collection of virtual hikes meant to evoke calm, curiosity, or at the very least a temporary escape from more demanding games. Its premise is simple and transparent: there are no goals to complete, no enemies to defeat, and no systems to master beyond moving forward and observing what lies ahead. The gameplay is stripped down to its bare essentials. Players are dropped into several standalone environments—ranging from farmland and lakesides to hills and mountainous terrain—and allowed to wander freely. Movement is slow and deliberate, reinforcing the sense of a casual stroll rather than an athletic trek. There is no map, no quest log, and no progression system tying the areas together. Each level exists as its own space, encouraging players to walk, look around, and take in the scenery at their own pace. For some, this design philosoph…
