About Aggressors: Ancient Rome
Aggressors: Ancient Rome is a turn-based 4X strategy game that brings you back to the ancient world.
A mix of deep gameplay and rich historical flavor, Aggressors lets you relive history as the ruler of one of the mighty civilizations of the Mediterranean world. Will you bring glory to Rome and conquer the Mare Nostrum? Will you build an immortal trading empire with Carthage? Will you bring the light of Athens to the world? Or maybe you will restore the rule of the Pharaoh? Choose one of twenty available factions and conquer the world.
You can manage all aspects of your empire: war, trade, internal politics, diplomacy, cultural development. Play on your strengths, beware of your weaknesses. The ancient world is brutal, for no mercy shall be given to the defeated. Vae victis!
A lot of time and many sleepless nights were put into historical research in an attempt to give a real historical feeling to the game. The game’s systems are tailored towards a faithful representation of history.
Twenty factions, from migrating barbarian tribes to advanced empires which interact with each other through an extremely detailed diplomatic system. Make use of more than ten available diplomatic agreements, including the possibility of forming Federations and Confederations as well as affecting nations and provinces in your Sphere of Influence.
Experience the incredibly deep combat system, with each unit having its abilities and traits, and terrain truly affecting the war outcome in a meaningful way. Army morale and the supply system are crucial and need to be taken into account. You will need all your guile and strategic mastery to triumph on the battlefield.
Rule your empire by managing its internal politics and developing its economy. Establish trade routes to reap wealth, ensure the loyalty of your citizens, manage demography, technological research, internal reforms, laws… the tools at your disposal are endless and seamlessly integrated with each other. Citizens react to the current situation and they can move to other places when they are not happy.
You have complete freedom: you can decide to start with an advanced nation surrounded by newer civilizations, or you can decide to start as a young tribe, ready to take on an older and decadent empire… or you can decide to completely randomize the map and play in a randomly generated world. The choice is yours!
Aggressors is very easy to learn thanks to the extremely clear tutorial and tool tips. Dive in the game gradually and explore all the options available to you.

well... It is just Total War Rome but with less content and without the awesome battles . Cities have very little upgrades and some mechanics are hard to understand. Has a nice tutorial though. Because i have played Rome Total War i find it very hard to get into this game without getting bored . Response to the devs. I might revisit it some time in the future 😊1 found this helpful
This game is graphically poor. The Sounds are terrible. Gameplay lacks originality. It feels more or less like a less polished version of the experience you'd get playing a modded Civ 4 game. Got this on some sale of 'women led dev teams'. Won't be doing that again. Even at the lower price I wouldn't recommend this or the other instalment Imperium Greek wars. They've released essentially the same game twice and lots of overpriced dlc for both. When your game is this basic to begin with you have some cheek to paywall most of the factions. All seems v focused on profit with very little value for money. Avoid. EDIT: It's true that this game has no current DLC, however it is basically a DLC of the other entry, which does have several overpriced DLC. This game is actually DLC disguised as a separate game. Not a v good one.
awsome but a bit hard
Aggressors: Ancient Rome is a turn-based grand strategy game developed by Kubat Software and published by Kube Games that places its ambitions squarely on depth, historical grounding, and systemic complexity rather than spectacle. Set in the ancient Mediterranean world, the game challenges players to guide a civilization through expansion, diplomacy, and warfare during an era defined by fragile alliances, logistical constraints, and slow-burning political change. From the outset, it is clear that this is a title aimed at players who enjoy deliberate planning and long-term thinking, offering a slower but more methodical alternative to flashier mainstream 4X strategy games. Instead of focusing on a scripted narrative, the game provides a framework in which history and sandbox gameplay intersect. Players can choose from a wide range of factions, including major powers like Rome and Carthage as well as smaller tribal or regional states, each starting with distinct geographic positions and strategic challenges. The historical campaign mode places these factions into a recognizable ancient Mediterranean map, encouraging players to contend with historically inspired pressures and rivalri…
Terrible game...the controls are horrible, impossible to pick the correct stacked unit you want to move, the tech straight out of 1997. Horribly balanced game, your fully built up cities fall easily to CAVALRY units. The game cheats like mad, your fully upgraded units perform horribly against the cheat ai units. When you use the cheat code alt-a, you see that the cheat ai units are barely upgraded. This is playing on medium difficulty. $6 for this garbage, and still a rip-off. They have a whole range of cut and paste DLC's, avoid them all. I love how the dummies reviewing this game talk about the deep gameplay and the great ai blah blah blah. The simple fact of the matter is that in the civ games it was extremely difficult to take a well guarded city, in this game its nothing (even taking cheat ai cities). So the cheat ai follows the same pattern game after game, build up a huge amount of trash units, declare war and blitzkrieg you, and your great units you spent 20 turns building up get slaughtered in combat by crummy cheat ai units.
I bought this game to support the developers. Good game. Similar to Civilization 4.
