Players appreciate the charming chibi character models and voice gallery, with some finding the typing mechanics engaging and rewarding to learn. However, common frustrations include issues with romaji input (particularly excessive hyphens and unexpected letter substitutions), inconsistent character art quality compared to previous Hololive games, and the game being genuinely difficult and tedious to complete, especially for the English side. Most acknowledge it as a decent typing game bolstered by Hololive fan appeal, though opinions on the overall experience range from mediocre to worthwhile
I know I’m like a drooling inbred American (I’m Japanese lmao), but my god does romaji feel evil. There’s so many hyphens, sometimes ranging from 2-6 within the same quote (Raora is extra evil). Some letters will also randomly change while I’m in the middle of typing a quote. Can’t say I remember what letter changes to what cause I’m locked in, but man does it throw me off. The game is alright for a typing game despite my dyslexic skill issue. I’ve always loved the artstyle, but I think the chibi models lose a bit of their identity when they no longer serve the purpose of an orb (compared to the other two games where it was a mechanic). I wish all the characters were more drawn like Marine and Ollie. At least this one has Sana in it. Also someone mentioned giving ID members Indonesian quotes, and I absolutely love that idea. Make CC speak German or Raora Italian, idk have fun with it.1 found this helpful
Typing games always have a way of being involved with other genres, especially zombies. Then the developer thought lets just add anime girls to that and things will work out. So far, it holds out not too bad. You use your typing skills to help a horny pirate/sister cure treasures (so we're still referring them as treasures huh?) that have been zombified by an even hornier zombie for some reason (you know, the usual). There are a lot of quotes to go around between all of them and the voice gallery is a nice touch to see when they said all the weird things they said on stream. You can also dump them in a room and play around with all the treasures. While its not too bad, the English side has it a bit rougher dealing with this game compared to Japan. Its good, but there are problems that just annoy me sometimes. The main issue is that despite the English and Indonesia members being included, the majority of their voice lines are Japanese, which is slightly bothersome as English fans can tell you they have some good and memorable lines in their native tongue. And that leads to problem two: having to type in Japanese, specifically the double n's and having to press "-" way more than yo…
Game is kinda mediocre, though I respect the dedication and the effort. Models are incredibly adorable, however. Did not know I needed zombie holoEN but here we are :0 Despite thinking its mid at best, I've made the unfortunate decision (for my sanity and possibly my fingers) to 100% this game. Will I want to end my life during and after this? Yes, absolutely. But am I a quitter? Another unfortunate thing for me, no I'm not (I've 100%'d a majority of the Holo games I have purchased, this is far beyond dedication at this point). Being a diehard Hololive fan apparently means suffering in my book :/
I played many games for years. I never actually played a typing game in my life, but this... Color me impressed. It was also an opportunity for me to learn how to type in a different way. Well, for my case anyway. It may get tougher and faster as the stages go on, but the effort of learning and improvements makes it worth it. I know typing games are not anyone's thing, hey can't help but get interested in challenges like this. To the devs of holo indie, thanks for the experience and keep up the good work.
Holo Zombies...Nice.
