"Hopebringers" is a bit of a weird tech demo of a game, a lot poly turn based tactical strategy game with RPG lite elements. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Some of the assets look a bit like stock assets, which is never really okay. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. Игра 'Hopebringers' оказалась приятным сюрпризом. С первых минут затягивает атмосфера мрачного фэнтези мира, где каждый герой несет на своих плечах бремя надежды. Графика выполнена в уникальном, немного угловатом стиле, который, тем не менее, отлично передает ощущение опасности и безысходности. Боевая система требует тактического подхода, а не простого "кликанья" по кнопкам. Разнообразие врагов и умений героев заставляет постоянно адаптироваться и искать новые стратегии. Сюжет, хоть и не блещет оригинальностью, подан достаточно интересно, чтобы поддерживать интерес к происходящему. Однако, есть и недостатки. Местами игра кажется немного "сырой", встречаются мелкие баги и ощущается нехватка полировки. Интерфейс мог бы быть более интуитивным, а обучение – более подробным. В целом, 'Hopebringers' – это неплохая тактическая RPG с интересной атмосферой и затягивающим геймплеем. Рекомендую тем, кто ищет что-то новое в жанре и готов простить некоторые недостатки. Fun to play, horrible to look at. I like the combat, it's simple for a srpg but with all the flickering on the screen when playing the game is annoying.
