What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise Horror Tale 3 for its engaging puzzles, well-written lore, reasonable pricing, and helpful hint system that encourages creative thinking. However, common complaints include significantly nerfed enemy difficulty compared to previous entries, annoying frequent voice lines without volume control, and frustration that the series remains unfinished after three games with major plot points already revealed.

These are always fun. short and cheap, worth the money I think. This one has a bit more story then the previous. This one also has some bugs, just like the others have, but nothing game breaking. We are on the third one though, I would hope the developer wraps up the story soon. I'd like a conclusion1 found this helpful
I’ve played Horror Tale 1 and Horror Tale 2, and honestly, Horror Tale 3 was a disappointment for me. The graphics are great, the gameplay is solid, and the puzzles are good — not too easy, not too hard. The voice lines are fine too, but they can get annoying because the character talks every time you pick up an item. It would be great if you added a sound option to adjust the voice volume, from 0 to 100. What really disappointed me was the difficulty. In the previous games, the enemy was faster (not faster than the player, but still challenging). However, in this game, the enemy is much worse — slower, less intelligent, with worse vision, hearing, and agility. It feels like the enemy got heavily nerfed. If before the difficulty was already low, now it’s even worse. When Ethan becomes Electro Ethan, that part is amazing! But even then, the change is not enough. He gets a short speed boost from time to time, but his poor vision and terrible AI make that mechanic feel wasted. Once you get a little far from him, he completely loses track of you. It kills the tension. In recent years, many horror games have failed in this same area — difficulty. And unfortunately, Horror Tale 3 foll…1 found this helpful
The game is extremely fun and requires not only solving puzzles and looking for items, but to think outside the box and to look for clues. The lore of this game is super well written and as a person whos played all 3 games i find the story very intresting, the 3rd game isnt even the final part, so im very excited for the last part! But what i really like about the game is the hints, it might seem small but it really helps alot knowing this game is pretty hard. And unlike most other games it doesnt require anything from you, not an ad, not any form of payment, nothing! However there is a limited amount of times u can use the hints, it depends though on which gamemode youre playing on. Overall I LOVE this game and buying it is definetly worth it in my opinion.
This game is so long and the series isn't even completed what is going on with this franchise
