About Hourglass
Pyramids are the tombs of the pharaohs. This is what most people believe. But more and more studies raise doubts about this thesis. Scientists found indications for ancient egypt being far more technologized than we can imagine. Hourglass is set in a scenario in which those assumptions are actually true..Besides offering an ancient world to explore, Hourglass is mostly about solving various puzzles with a unique core-mechanic. Your ability allows you to record your actings for a certain amount of time. After that, time winds back to the beginning of the recording and a time-clone of yourself appears, repeating the actions.
On your adventure, you will have to use this ability in creative ways to get through various areas filled with difficult puzzles.
Your journey leads you to a remote temple where you encounter undiscovered egyptian technologies and portals to a foreign world. Only by unraveling the secrets of these long lost technologies, you are able to solve all puzzles on your quest and eventually find your father.

I noticed a lot of reviews mentioning the Talos Principle and Portal, and then that leads to disagreement as to whether Hourglass needs to be "that good" or whether it's fair to compare it and hold it to that standard. Guys, this is just a bad game. It's a very low effort, going through the motions, knock-off, coat-tail type of game. If "fake it 'til you make it' were a game. The puzzles are very yada-yada: simple, or tedious, or both. The developer is not even a little bit invested in the premise, the world, the character, the setting, etc. There's also a lot of 'waiting' baked into the mechanics, since most puzzles are some form of baton-pass where your clone has to act first, and then you move in parallel to 'sync up' with your clone. Would I spend time on it if it were free? I would not.3 found this helpful

While this is superficially similar to games like Talos Principle or portal, this lacks a lot of the hooks that kept me playing those games such as the dialogue or philosophical intrigue, this is mostly a silent puzzle game which given it follows much of the same logic of these games renders it fairly boring if you've already played these games
Outstanding escape puzzle adventure game UNTIL the last of the serpent area puzzles where split second timing matters more than pure logic. Not everyone has the agility to do that. I was unable to continue so will have to give up before finishing. Still, it was great fun up to that point and others with the right capabilities will be able to enjoy it.
6/10, I think it's an ok First Person Puzzler but the "time" mechanic force you to wait doing nothing.
