Hoven the Sages Spinel

It's not a terrible game, the maps, ui, combat and story are good enough. I'm even willing to overlook the numerous spelling errors in every other line that could have easily been spell checked. But the absurd encounter rate made me uninstall about 60% of the way through the game. There's a battle about every 8 steps. I just didn't feel like choosing flee any more. Auto-attack or auto-flee would have helped.

RPG Maker strikes again! This is another low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoff spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." This isn't even a good RPG Maker game, it's story heavy, which might be okay if the story was compelling, but spelling errors put me off getting even further into it. Gamers who want a good retro gaming experience would be better off playing the original Final Fantasy games or one of the better RPG Maker games.

Great game for such a cheap price. Lots of easter eggs, and plenty bonus content post main game. Wish it had mouse control, but that's my only gripe.

10/10 would slay rats A, B, and C again

Fun old time RPG

I know this is RPGmaker game so I shouldn't expect much but there are pretty good game on that engine and there is this one, low resolution, blurred, stretched, almost no sounds other than main music, clunky moment, mostly standard set of tiles you can see over and over in many other rpgmaker games and overall fail to spark interest to keep event trying find if there is something better later in the game.
