About HOW WE KNOW WE'RE ALIVE
HOW WE KNOW WE'RE ALIVE is an award winning, hour long melancholy, point-and-click narrative mystery set in the bible belt of Sweden.

Welcome to Härunga – a small industrial town in the bible belt of the mid–north of Sweden. You play as Sara, an aspiring writer who, after having been away for 10 years, returns home in order to investigate the tragic fate of her estranged best friend. The days grow short quickly this far up north – and the rain never seems to let up...

Lovingly crafted and richly animated, explore the melancholy atmosphere of a small town that time seemingly forgot. Meet old friends and enemies and piece together the mystery of what happened after your friendship tragically fell apart.
As in life, what you say will impact things in hidden ways and not everything may be as it seems. Who is telling whose truth and can you know the difference?

Played this game with a heavy heart and it felt painful to go through the entire story. Its a mix of heartbreak, forgiveness, and maturity. Finished the game crying. It stayed with me for quite some time. I highly recommend.
This was a short and sweet game. I wish there were achievements. I like the backgrounds and scenery a lot.
In a world where everyone is so full of themselves, nobody checks on their "loved ones" anymore. Your friend could be grieving, or could be not, but they could be not with you tomorrow anymore and maybe you haven't even checked on them. Things happen, they could go on some accident, catch some illness, and so many more things. But you don't check on them. One-sided friendships are real and more common nowadays. Great game to have some guys wake upon a crude reality of life.
Short pixel art indie game which is detective-like but mainly dialogue. Worth it for a free game, if you want to follow an emotional story about friendship and see some nice pixel art.
