Ignited Steel: Prologue

it is actually pretty fun and engaging, starts pretty simple, but with each mission the features are laid down plainly, and in a concise manner. At the end of the prologue the player will have a very good idea of what they are getting here. PS the only thing that bothered me, I can compromise but wish developers fixed it in the future, was the visuals, some tiles represent urban centers, I think they should stand out better kinda like at Kaiju wars. or better, it can always be better, maybe more animations and lights, like giant animated commercial adds on top of the buildings? I also wish for better art style, the anime style of the characters looks cool, but the rest of the game doesnt seem to match up with it. I had the thought, maybe if it was "kinda" like Street fighter Alpha or Marvel Vs Capcom(?) as whenever a character pulls a super move a comic pictures covers half the screen to showcase it as it happens...just my two cents

The Heat idea is nice but the Turned Base in 2022 is a No Go = You can only shoot in 4 directions ...

i am not that big of a fan of turn based games, but this one was a pleasant surprise. it appears to combine aspects of FTL and Into the Breach, and the gameplay rewards critical thinking while not being overcomplicated. i think i will get the full version when i get the chance.

7/10 A TBS with customizable mechs. Good: - the combat system is fine overall. You control several mechs and customize 3 components for each. Most actions cause a mech to heat up, and there are additional effects depending on the mech's temperature. The resulting gameplay is quite interesting - the music is good - the animations of mechs are nice So-so: - the 2D art lacks consistency. The character portraits don't fit well with the somewhat simplistic UI elements - there is a feel of lacking polish somehow Bad: - this prologue doesn't have a save/load feature. So, if you quit it mid-way, you'll have to restart the whole tutorial from scratch Overall, it reminds Into the Breach and also an old game from the 90s called MechCommander (but that one was an RTS). If you like sci-fi, mechs and space, it's certainly worth a look.
