About Imperatum

Imperatum is an Action RPG set in a future Sci-Fi universe.

You are an agent, thrown headfirst into your first mission trying to unravel the mystery of the veil that is consuming the galaxy.

The game focuses on the core ARPG 'trinity' mechanics of fast-paced combat, deep character customization and tons of loot!

Key Features
 • Intense combat - A hallmark of this genre and Imperatum delivers! Battle your way through 13 levels and more than a dozen different enemy types!
 • Character customization - Familiar stat and skill allocation with a twist. Skills can be used in active mode or slotted in other skills for a passive effect. Want your fire bomb to heal you? Done! Want your Three Shot Burst to explode and irradiate your enemies? Done and done! This active passive system with 48 unique skills allows for near limitless combinations.
 • All the loot - Love finding loot? There is so much loot we had to implement a recycling feature that allows players to turn extra loot into crafting currencies on the fly instead of having to run back to town.
 • Vast Sci-Fi Universe - Have you played the other big ARPG's and wonder why there was no good Sci-Fi game? It is our passion to deliver that experience that has been missing in the genre. No more high fantasy, dark fantasy or voxel settings. Just good old fashioned Sci-Fi awesomesauce.
 • Targeting Overlay - It can be frustrating at times to not have visual indicators for how far your skills work. We sought to solve this with a toggle-able targeting overlay that displays your skills range and area of effect.
 • Healthy Player Mechanics - Being a gamer in 2017 is hard. There are so many good games and so little time it can be hard to pull yourself away. We feel that as developers it is part of our ethical duty to encourage gamers to make healthy choices. To that end we have been implementing and testing systems within the game to encourage players to make healthy choices. Let us know what you think!
In A Nutshell
Imperatum is a sci-fi Action RPG set in a distant future where humanity has spread through the galaxy, but has nearly been wiped out by a mysterious alien threat. You, as one of mankind's best agents, will need to find a scientist that has critical information about the threat. As in any ARPG, the main activities you will perform in Imperatum are exploration, looting, quests, customizing your character choosing from different build possibilities, and of course fight tons of enemies. This game chooses a pretty classic approach, delivering the classic formula in most things. The exploration part is average, but also crippled by the game map not being reliable and displaying structures and paths that do not reflect the actual level layout most of the time, so it will be mostly useless. Looting is aswell average as in any other ARPG, but it has some quality of life problems, because you actually will soon have too much loot on your hands, and will constantly be using your Drone Companion to recycle unwanted stuff, because of your inventory filling at an alarming rate. Also, absence of loot filters, sorting or any form of auto-loot or auto-sell functions are is…

This is a post-release review. I've been wanting a spacey sci-fi Diablo-esque game for some time. Sadly, Imperatum falls short of the mark. After playing the first level, I'm considering going back to Shadowgrounds (which was really good) and Space Hack, of all things. Total play time is just shy of 90 minutes so take this with however much salt you want. Imperatum does have potential but this is not a pro. This is an indication of being incomplete. PROS Sci-fi spacey-ness (instead of yet another fantasy setting). Item recycling allows for cleaning out the inventory on the fly. Guns. Lots of guns, including various energy guns, chain guns, rocket launchers, and the staple of the laser gun. Lots of equipment options. Decent graphics. Picking up loot is a matter of clicking on it. The item goes to the character instead of the character going to the item. Loot view is a toggle, so you can turn off the loot when you need to kill stuff instead of picking stuff up. I like the stim slots and health stims simply having a cooldown instead of carrying hundreds of health pots. Default key config utilizes the WASD position for the action hotkeys. There are eight hotkeys in all (1-4,…

I have no idea what this game is like as I've only been able to see the splash intro screen, before it crashes. It's crashed 17 times in the short time I've owned it. It seems like the kind of game I'd want to play, and yet, I can't.

I played more this game - I kinda like it. It is not as bad as some people write. But it is not full release, it is more early access due to launch and freezes problems. Other than that it is was fun to play.

While certainly not the worst game I've ever played, this is definitely down there. It isn't like the game is actively incompetent, but it definitely is not a 20 dollar full release. The bugs make it nearly unplayable, the story is fragmented by the crashes and even then it doesn't seem to be doing much new, and the game fails to explain the supposedly innovative points that it tries to sell the audience on. It's a pity, because I could see the potential of a game like this. Isometric ARPGs are kind of a sword and sorcery club, the fact that it's a spacefaring adventure would make it kind of unique in and of itself, but it's too mired in its other issues. If it fixed the game breaking bugs, added more exploration and animations, and let the tutorial explain everything, this could have been a game that kept me cloistered in my room for hours. As is, it's a complete mess with a few little gold nuggets in there. Take my advice and keep this one a light year away. Pros: + Skill-mixing system + Lots of loot! + Inventory clearing without a merchant Cons: - Game never explains the new stuff - Not much strategy - Shoddy animations - No personality in your character - Consistent crashes …
