First Person Sadism Impulsion is undoubtedly a game that will appeal to certain gamers, but even those it appeals to will find certain mechanics of this game to be hard pills to swallow. Impulsion is a first person speed running game. Your goal is always to get from one end of a level to the other as quickly as possible, but there is no penalty for going slowly other than a low grade, which makes the skill floor relatively low and the ceiling awfuly high. The gimmick that sets this game apart from similar titles is it's dual guns. Left click will fire a blue shot which will form a bubble that speeds up whatever enters it, as well as allow you to jump much further. Right click and you will fire a red projectile that slows down whatever enters it and gives you a single extra jump upon entering it. These two guns, along with level obstacles is everything you'll be interacting with in this game, and the difficulty ramps up incredibly fast. For those people looking to show off their skills, getting the achievements of completing later levels is sure to peak their interest. Obnoxious narrator never shuts up, insulting you every time you die and repeats his voice lines every time you reset level. Very obnoxious aiming where you have to full sprinting shoot a large bubble so that it only overlaps with one of the two objects in a small hallway. Can't see where death lasers are as you're jumping over them so distance judging is imprecise. Game has worst speed mechanic I've ever seen where you just have to constantly left click spam blue "speed up" bubbles at your feet literally every 0.5 seconds to maintain max speed. Just not worth the time. Beat half the game a got a top 500 speed within 20 minutes of launching, so no it's not copium.

Good idea, but there some small issues that overall make the gameplay bad (Jumping from red sphere jumps towards the direction you face rather than just a regular jump, acceleration not feeling very consistent, hurtbox is large when it does not need to be). The biggest issue here is the level design. A great idea, destroyed by lack of imagination for what the mechanics can do for a level. Why are there random fans on cycles that are unrelated to the mechanics? They are literally just there to be troll and an annoying execution check when the game is about going fast? Why are there random "Look around" sections to find the placed platform knowledge checks? I just do not understand the communication from the level design. Is this a troll game? or a parkour game. The dialogue does not need to be there. This game is marketed as parkour yet I have a narrator who plays on repeat on every retry like he is trying to ragebait me. Muted in the settings. Game is not optimized? The game decides to run at 15 - 20 FPS on the LOWEST settings on my GTXForce 1060 which should be plenty for a game like this...
