Incandescent 2 is a cheap knock-off of Geometry Wars, only worse, of course. Geometry Wars is a cheap knock off of the 1962 oscilliscope game, SpaceWar!, and was also inferior to the game it was ripping off. So here we are. It's come to this. I'm writing a review of a game so bad that it's a knockoff of a knockoff of a science experiment from 59 years ago. I would have hoped video game development might have progressed a bit from then. Stephen Crabb is here to reject all technological advancement by dumping this garbage onto Steam (and DailyIndieGame crapware bundles). Anyway this is just a godawful retro neon SpaceWar! ripoff with no notable value to PC gamers.3 found this helpful
I am the best Incandescent player in the world, I am at the top of the global leaderboard with a point lead of 1,600,000. My fingers were so numb by the time i reached wave 100 that I could barely feel the keys3 found this helpful
It's a beautiful game, I think the colors could be more neon, more incandescent. But even so, the colors are beautiful to look at, it's a good game to play. Gameplay is original and fun. But also the gameplay is challenging. It has a world ranking and other statistics. I recommend it to all players in the steam gaming community.1 found this helpful
no. also crashes on wave2
Bought this after playing some Incandescent 2. This ver. is both better and worse. Art is a little bit better, but it's missing the option to play with scanlines like the first one. The sometimes imba powerup system from version one is now replaced with a fixed multi-shot gun, shields, & rechargeable bombs. It's not nearly as buggy, but a few times the audio was missing (not sure if it was because the track was over?). I actually prefer version one of this update one, mainly because of the boss bottles and powerup collection (even if it was sometimes imba). Would like to see the version one be updated into Incandescent 2, as it also looks like there was thoughts at one point to put in multiple play modes (unless this is a feature I haven't unlocked?). Good game for the price though and being an indie job. Would like to see the dev try to go more on his concept than be a geometry wars cloner.
Easy 100% achievements. Pretty fun too :)
