Players praise the bow and arrow mechanic and appreciate that the game has a tutorial and story, but overwhelmingly criticize it as feeling unfinished and more like a demo than a full product, with complaints about severe technical issues including crashes, poor optimization, glitchy gameplay, awkward controls, and an overly complicated inventory system that undermines the experience. Additionally, some players report language settings locked to Chinese, broken audio, incorrect player height calibration, and zombies that are unresponsive and pose little threat, making the game boring despite i
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & full gameplay here: https://youtu.be/SJHkcKPCagM This isn't the worst zombie shooter ever. It's got a little story (barebones) with VOs, a nice sized map, & a pretty fun to shoot bow & arrow. Heck, there's even a tutorial (pretty rudimentary though). The problem is that the game feels like a demo instead of a full game. The developer said there was more to come when this game was released & stated lots of fixes were ahead. That may be true, but the game even isn't listed as Early Access although it clearly should be given the state that it's in. I finished the game in less than an hour on my first playthrough and less less than 30 minutes on my second. It just lacks overall polish. While the bow & arrow mechanic feels nice, including picking up arrows from dead zombies, everything else is sorely lacking gameplay-wise. To get your backpack, you do a button press instead of reaching behind you. To reload a magazine into your handgun or uzi, you do a button press instead of taking out the magazine physically. The gun angle on the handgun is terrible. Melee is pretty silly and overpowered in this game. Once you pi…6 found this helpful
To call ‘Infected Prison’ a crap game would probably be an understatement. From the start the game judders and glitches even when running on a 3090, but the gameplay and graphics sadly don’t make up for it at all. The gameplay is boring with zombies you can walk up to and kiss on the lips and they won’t move, to controls that would only make sense to someone in a mental asylum. Its all just too over-complicated, over-priced and not something I can recommend in its current state.5 found this helpful
The Game only displays chinese language. Not recommended for the rest of the world2 found this helpful
This game should be removed from Steam immediately. I only got it to run once and went through what as probably the worst training level ever where I was prompted with instructions for what has to be the most convoluted awkward control/inventory system I have ever encountered in a VR game. The height is also very wrong with the virtual in-game floor being higher than the actual floor. There is no height setting in the game and there are also no graphical settings. The audio will also not come through the Oculus Rift S speakers. After repeatedly trying to relaunch the game and getting crash after crash after crash, I finally gave up. Didn't even ask Steam for a refund. Just permanently removed it from my account.
After playing alot of games which cant even manage to get the pickup gesture work I was pleasantly surprised how well the equipment and inventory system works. There are some bad english translations which got me to scratch my head during the tutorial but that is an easy fix. Sadly the game is poorly optimized so I was forced to play with 45 fps with low resolution. The first jumpscare was great and raised my pulse and made me walk in a slow pace. But pretty quickly I got to know the zombies which are really slow and even if they are right in front of you they are harmless and quite stupid. This made my fear go away and the game got boring really quick There is also issues with the sounds where you can hear zombies like they are right next to you put several meters away which breaks immersion as well. You also need to add a sprint button because the walk speed is really slow even when using teleport.
