INFERNIUM

I finally finished this game 100% after coming back at it several years later. I can honestly say, considering the reviews, that this game is the most underrated game I know. It has so much to offer that I dont get why it isn't more famous. It's clearly a little gem, a hard one sure, but a gem nontheless. If you want to buy this game you need to know few things first : - You want a challenging puzzle game. - You appreciate horror game for their feeling of being weak and constantly hunted. - You have a good 3D spatial intelligence and good wayfinding ability. - You like to understand things by yourself. - You enjoy having a fragmented lore you'll have to explore to find your answers. If you check, I would say, 4 out of these 5 things then you should like it (maybe more ?). I was myself so involed playing I was like the main protagonist. Deaths sometimes felt like I had been shot in my back, thus making the pleasure of success so enjoyable. I'll always remember once you understand the "thing" about the level design. I was in awe. Infernium crashes consistently every time I get about one minute into the game. I have tried setting my graphics to low but the game still crashes. It's not like my PC is slow either. it can run Counter Strike Two at max graphics at 200 fps. I am very disappointed because I just bought this game and I thought it would be really fun. I can't find a single way to get it to work. I also couldn't find anything online about it. Not sure if i should recommend this game or not. Edit: The community was really helpful and someone told me to paste a code into my launch settings. The game runs great and it was a really easy fix. It is a really fun and creative game. It is difficult and requires a lot of thought. There is a lot of work put into this game and it isn't the only good game this dev has made. Good job!

The game suffers from mystique difficulty, as in you won't know much until you know and by that point your run in the game might already be suffering or need a bit of explanation. With the inclusion of permadeath that is not actually permadeath with a knowledge of enemy locations and map layouts in a sprawling beautiful landscape its hidden gem for those that enjoy challenging games and unique beautiful puzzle maps. I've put off on playing this game for a while because i've known about its learning curve for a long time but I think for the right buyer with patience and and understanding desire to know victory won't come easy its worth the effort.

A flawed masterpiece in my opinion. A great game marred by the need for some more polishing time. A must play, level design is excellent, beautiful environments, ambiance is on point, an amazing experience even if at times a little more frustrating than it needed to be. Areas that needed improvement to make this into an overall great game: - Collision Detection: getting killed by enemies through the thin movable orange walls, getting stuck on the floor when just walking through intersections between different terrains, being able to teleport to terrain that immediately throws you to the void and you die. - Enemy Sound Design: terribly obnoxious and ear drum penetrating at times. - Writing: while the world tells a beautiful story the writing on the walls leaves a lot to be desired, just an extra pass of proof reading and a closer to native language writer would have done wonders for something that in its current state takes you away from the experience and breaks the otherwise magic veil the game creates. There may be many other details but those were the main pain points for me, I truly believe this could've been one of the games of the year had it had that extra polish.

Slow, dark, boring, annoying and just all round terrible. Don't waste your money!

Interesting concept, but very rough around the edges. Sound design needs polish, movement needs polish, gameplay needs polish, story needs polish. Sound mixing is all over the place, some sounds play very oddly (ie wooden footsteps on stone floor, ambient sound and gameplay sound is jarringly contrasted). Plays very clunky. Intro is supposed to convey some sort of story but just a black screen with the sound of a car crash, then instantly into the game world. Price drops drastically on a sale. Otherwise it is definitely not worth the full price.
