About Infinity Trials

Enter the Infinity Trials, an action-packed, fast-paced, rogue-lite where you'll explore mysterious worlds and fight fierce enemies with sword and bow.

Lost in a dense forest, you find yourself facing dangerous creatures that won't hesitate to attack you. But as you defeat them, something strange happens: you get teleported to another universe, where new enemies challenge you. Can you survive all verses and defeat the hordes of variants thrown your way?

Begin your journey wielding a swift yet straightforward sword and bow, gradually enhancing your prowess as you unveil potent artifacts. These mystical relics hail from diverse realms, each offering unique power-ups. While some are as uncomplicated as basic spinach, boosting your strength, others harbor mythological might, like the legendary sword Excalibur.

Ultra fast precision combat

One hit kills enemies and one hit kills you. The fast paced combat requires you to move quickly and kill quickly as the faster you kill the more gems you earn. The gems are used for powerful artifacts from various universes which will help you kill faster and earn more gems to buy more Artifacts. The Artifacts will quickly make you into a instant killing machine where dozens of enemies will perish with each swing of a sword or arrow from the bow. While speed is of the essence, so is grace and accuracy. A swing and a miss will make very exposed to enemy hits.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game for its addictive, well-designed gameplay loop with tight controls and satisfying feedback, highlighting the effective progression system and excellent value for the price. The retro aesthetic, excellent music, and "just one more run" appeal make it ideal for short gaming sessions, with players appreciating how the simple mechanics create surprising depth and complexity. The main criticism is that some find the overall design too simplistic, though most see this as elegant minimalism rather than a flaw.

Fun, cheap and addictive! Despite its retro look it has quite a bit of complexity and finesse to it. Both in how you play each game and the overarching strategy of which permanent upgrades to buy. Seems well balanced so far. Playing well early rewards you late-game, so it's not like some rouge-lites where the early levels are a slog once you have leveled up a bit.

tl;dr Incredibly well designed and a genuine blast to play. The basic mechanics are deceivingly simple, yet still manage to give rise to some surprisingly complex interactions. In the same sense that a talented wine maker doesn't need anything other than grapes, yeast, and possibly some oak in order to make a tremendous wine, Infinity Trials gets far with a simple melee attack, a bow and arrows, and the occasional dash. The control scheme is tight and feels natural, meaning that you don't really have any excuse for the myriad of silly deaths you'll no doubt experience. The greatest strength of Infinity Trials is how easy it is both to pick up and put down. It's the ultimate game when you have 15 minutes to kill. The price is also an absolute steal. I'd easily pay 10€ for this, if not more. Another upside is that the player base is still small enough that you have a realistic chance of getting into the top 10 on the global leaderboard if you put some effort in. I'm at #7 at the time of writing, and I fully intend to defend that title with every inch of my being. Come at me! In the effort of writing an honest review I do have to mention my 1 gripe with this game: the story. I …
