Trials of Valor

Steam deck: plays very well. Constant 60fps and does not eat up battery life. There is a dedicated steam deck graphics option. The game is surprisingly good and fun. I wish I would have discovered this game much sooner. The combat is very satisfying and fluid. There are a decent variety of skills and equipment that you can use and customize your character. Some critiques I have is I would like to see a more enemy types. The enemy spawn feel a little bit static between all the zones. Other than this I would love to have more of everything else, like weapons, skills, zones because the game is that great. Overall, I feel this game should be the gold standard moving forward for all 2D fighter roguelikes in the future.

This game is very well made. The creators come across as gamers that understand the experience of gaming. It's a 2d fighting game for fans of classic fantasy with an excellent roguelite system of building your character for each play-through with tons of abilities and classes. The new endless mode introduces a whole new system to experience the game.

If you are coming from traditional 2D fighters, this will not feel like the snappiest, smoothest fighter. I wouldn't want to fight in this current engine competitively against other players. That said, if you've ever enjoyed Xrd's M.O.M. mode or even 2XKO's The Climb, 100000% pick up this gem. It still feels like a fighting game. It still feels fun as hell getting a build together and hitting the tech you've developed for it throughout a run. If you wanna bring out the stick or leverless but don't wanna lab your bnbs or your vibe is a bit too bruised for sluggin it out in ranked... pick up Trials of Valor, mash your buttons, and have a fantastic time.

Underrated and Fun AF

Very cool entry in the Roguelike genre. Love all the classes, lots of abilities for each, multiple loadouts, and more things that make the combat and build approach unique and deep. Progression system is nice too with new classes and items to unlock
