:) sooo stressful trying to figure out who it was but so much fun and a great read3 found this helpful
I have always loved Hill's writings. I was hooked when reading the demo, and decided I have to keep reading for more! I love that you get to choose the range of what kind of rich person you want to be, and I love the humour in the story. I think the plot were executed nicely, and it wasn't the "typical" murder investigation experience I would say. I do notice some typos, and it might not exactly be a story I would re-read twice, but once Book 2 comes out, I may return, who knows!2 found this helpful
I really enjoyed this game. Perfect to escape from your own family drama- because hey, at least my family isn't *that* bad. And the romances were pretty sweet. Excited for the sequel!2 found this helpful
I get that it's incredibly difficult to write a branched interactive story like this, and I think many aspects of it are great. There are funny moments, stakes are high, the writing is inclusive of a range of genders and sexualities, and most of the writing is solid (there are a couple misspelled words, but with how high the word count is, there were bound to be mistakes, so I won't hold it against the author). Choices are remembered and coding seems consistent, although many choices don't affect even flavor text--often, you can choose two different options and get the exact same response, word for word. Unfortunately, though, the characters have very little depth, including the ones you're supposed to like (such as the love interests, who are woefully under-characterized.) Also, saving is unintuitive, and I lost my progress once. The biggest issue, however, is that the plot itself is so unrealistic and frustrating that it completely ruins immersion and makes the game unplayable as an actual detective game. (I'll describe the problems as vaguely as possible, and none of this should ruin it, but minor spoiler warning just in case:) I don't expect a mystery game to perfectly p…1 found this helpful
It is okay.
very fun if game to read through! i narrowed it down to two people at the end but it kept throwing me for a loop throughout the story. CC's work tends to always wow me with how in detail they can go at times and this one was no exception. great story! can't wait for book 2 whenever it comes out!
