About Inspector Waffles

It’s hard to get the memory of that case out my head... I can’t even think about what my old partner went through without getting a bad taste in my mouth. I guess that’s why I’m sittin' here drinking yet another glass of cold, hard milk.

Inspector Waffles was hoping his worst days were behind him, but the murder of a high-profile industrialist CEO beloved by the citizens of Cat Town raises new questions and fears.
Being the best inspector on the CTPD, Waffles has no choice: he's gotta push past the painful memories, don his well-worn overcoat, and prepare to get his paws dirty.

A detective story reminiscent of the old school classics, Inspector Waffles provides plenty of peculiar mystery, a story full of intrigue, and a slew of characters to interrogate, all wrapped into beautifully simple pixel-art. Will you be able to sniff out every clue and nab the murderer?

A REAL TREAT, SEE?
- A brilliant feline detective in a world full of anthropomorphic cats, dogs, and maybe other species. It’s pixel-animal madness, I tell ya.
- A beautiful jazzy soundtrack, full of notes and music and harmony pleasing to your ears and brain.
- Chock full of dry humor and puns about cats and dogs. Seriously, I couldn’t think of any more puns to include. The pun supply is exhausted.

But what makes this game special is not just the adorable concept, but how lovingly and precisely it is executed. It combines humor, mystery, a light noir atmosphere, charming characters, and cute puzzles in a really satisfying way. We play as Inspector Waffles, a tough, cynical cat who sleeps in his office because he suffers from nightmares whenever he goes home, following a tragic incident involving a gangster and his former partner, Pancakes. Very early on, you notice that everything in this world revolves around cats and dogs, and all the clichés, idioms, and associations connected to them come to life in the most charming ways. Waffles works in Cat City, has a painting of Meowgritte in his home, and the grim phrase “There’s more than one way to skin a cat” plays a central role in the plot. The cats, naturally, are often sly and slippery, or …7 found this helpful
Inpector Waffles is a charming little detective adventure game that I quite enjoyed. It's not doing anything incredibly novel but the art, music, writing and puzzles are all executed quite well and make for an overall fun experience. It's definitely worth the price for fans of this sort of game.1 found this helpful
