About Insurrection: Cyborgs Awakening
Chrome Hero
Insurrection: Cyborgs Awakening features a classic beat em’ up gameplay. Make your way through the neon city of Beat Bay, a place where peace has never been an option. Fight as Michael, the pilot of the incredible TH-3000, unleash devastating combos to take down your enemies or destroy them completely by making powerful and unique abilities.
Fight for humankind
The corporation ‘Driftonics’ has taken advantage of this by providing cures to deadly diseases to its inhabitants through nanotechnology or modifying their bodies with robotic parts to achieve technological utopia. What no one knew is that this was all just an evil plan to possess the minds of their citizens and turn them into cyborgs ready to kill. Fight against a variety of enemies, from the weak and volatile Scout, through the agile and deadly gang members of the High Heels, to the mighty Iron Hearts.
Stop the Massacre
Help Michael take down the top executives of “Driftonics” Corporation. Starting with the beautiful but fearsome Cyberna, a powerful winged cyborg who will be willing to destroy everything in her path in order to complete her campaign of world domination.
The Purest Retrowave Style
Enjoy fantastic 3D graphics with handpainted textures. Move through the awesome Beat Bay, featuring four different levels with their own theme. Enjoy an exciting story of hilarious action in the purest style of the 80s and above all, be ready to kick metal asses.

It has potential to be good, The art style is nice and the music is good overall. But for now the combat feel really unsatisfying. The placeholder sound effects are weak and lots of sound effects are missing entirely. On top of that the game was mostly too easy for my test and I didn't even know how to use special attacks because the game assumes you are using a controller and there are no instraction on the controls for keybord users. The power ups are given in inappropriate times. For example, giving you more damage for a couple of seconds but only spawning 2 enemies to fight before it wears out. It added to the combat feeling unsatisfying. I might come back in the future to update this review, as the game is just a little baby and it may grow to be strong yet.9 found this helpful
"Insurrection: Cyborgs Awakening" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from ESAT. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a Double Dragon style console/arcade brawler/beat 'em up game with a cyborg theme. Sorry, they tried but failed to make it and walked away after publishing an incomplete game onto Steam Early Access. Which I guess a lot of "professional" developers do, too, but it's inexcusable behaviour anyway. I guess ESAT doesn't teach their students that it's important to fini…3 found this helpful
Before I played Insurrection: Awakening of the cyborgs, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Haven't played a beat-em-up in a while...I forgot how FUN crackin' skulls is! The story is something-something EVIL CORPORATION, something-something CYBORGS, something-something WHO CARES! GO PUNCH DUDES! IT'S AWESOME! You play as a buff bot boi...I didn't understand if he's a cyborg, or if he's being operated remotely by a pilot or what...doesn't matter! He has all the skills needed to save the city or something! There are 4 levels and a final boss to fight thru, each level being a gorgeous synthwave/neo-tokyo full of goons...soundtracked exactly the way it should be. The mobs are basic stuff, but satisfying to pulverize. I think I counted 4 types, plus the boss, but I was having fun and apparently not paying much attention to detail....odd for me. You have a basic punch/kick, and a charge attack for dealing with problems, and also a dash that uses stamina. There are batteries and street-chicken scattered around to restore your stats. The game should be clearable in less than 1hr, if you can beat the final boss... This is a LOT of fun, but it's VERY much in early access as I write this, and it does show. Some notable current issues: After the opening scene, It's difficult…
Trying it out this game and there's a lot to be fixed, but for this game to come out literally yesterday , the music and art style is pretty dope with the retro look it was going for. A few request I would say is to add an audio page in options, the default music setting is pretty loud. For the controls, have both controller on one and keyboard on the other (for new users that are reading this, the keybinds are WASD for movement, U to punch, I to kick, and Shift to dash.) There's more controls but i didn't go through the game for too long. Should do more with the attack mechanism, but besides that this game is on the right track and I can't wait to see what you guys add :)
