Island Dash

"Island Dash" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a pretty short, very lame low poly 3D action adventure game where you play a tourist who lost his wallet and you need to do minigame stuff around a small island to make enough money to buy a hot dog. Игра Island Dash - это затягивающая казуальная головоломка! Простой, но увлекательный геймплей быстро вовлекает в процесс. Нужно собирать ресурсы, строить здания и расширять свой островной рай. Графика яркая и приятная глазу, а музыкальное сопровождение расслабляет. Поначалу кажется легко, но с каждым уровнем сложность растет, заставляя продумывать каждый ход. Иногда не хватает ресурсов, и приходится искать нестандартные решения. Разнообразие построек и апгрейдов радует, всегда есть к чему стремиться. Недостатком можно назвать некоторую однообразность заданий, особенно на поздних этапах. Хотелось бы больше уникальных событий и вызовов. Но в целом, это отличный выбор для коротких игровых сессий, когда нужно отвлечься и расслабиться. Рекомендую всем любителям головоломок!

Amazing game. I came for the storytelling and was not disappointed. Rumblejack is such a complex and interesting character. His relationship with his parrot is truly inspiring. My favorite part was the boat race. 10/10 smooth controls.
