Izmir: An Independence Simulator

This feels more like an unfinished project than a complete game. The gameplay is repetitive, the content is extremely limited, and it doesn't seem like it's getting any meaningful updates. It's hard to recommend when it feels abandoned and lacking in almost every area.

Feels like the product of a game jam where they gave you two random asset packs and 24 hours. Unfortunately, I don't believe that's the case here. "Story" is poorly written dialogue with personality-less NPCs that have no reason for being in the game, crammed full of memes and pop culture references that do not succeed in being either fun or funny. Gameplay is a poorly balanced tower-defense game that effectively devolves into waiting for the approaching enemies to finally run into your wall of lasers so you can get on with the game. This isn't an early access game, it's a pre-alpha proof of concept that died before ever leaving that stage. Save your two bucks.

As is it feels like those fake adds for mobile games. Shame the game was abandoned, it had promise

Tower defense game. You are, apparently, the leader of a territory resisting invasion by another. Place towers and guns to shoot at invading forces. Construct resource-gathering facilities in order to place more towers and guns. Develop weapons based on magic and/or science. Appease and/or manipulate people that will influence weapon development. Survive til the next round. This is pretty much just a tower defense game. If one likes tower defense games, I'm sure it's fine. But I was expecting more from a game that dares to call itself "an independence simulator". There's no story that I could find. There's no explanation of who you are, who the invaders are, who wants independence from whom and what the stakes are. There's no background explanation for how this seemingly early-1900s setting has magic and machinery working side by side. Maybe the most interesting non-tower-defense element in the game is the set of advisors you have. Each has a different impact on some aspect of the game, such as faster magic development, faster scientific development, better population control (no indication in the time I played of what happens if one loses population control) and so o…

If this was any more than two dollars I couldn't recommend this game. It uh, it appears to be an abandoned game and it is kind of mid as tower defense. The subjects have some weird lines. funny game though plenty of achievements.

Really boring tower defence, where you cannot even force waves and have to wait looking at empty screen. Also terrible at explaining things, and when you look at mechanics they're really primitive.
