Jane Angel: Templar Mystery
...is a hidden object game. While investigating the smuggling of ancient coins, you follow a trail of potential clues left by Templars in an attempt to find the Holy Grail.
⚙ Game Description & Mechanics ⚙
The game consists of a series of puzzles, most notably the hidden object puzzle in which you have a still image filled with junk and knick-knacks, and a list of items to find, sometimes in multiple copies. Most of them are wide areas you can scroll sideways to find the items, others are multiple pictures which you must switch from one to another. As you check items off your list, additional items are added. Should you do a second playthrough, the items to be found will differ. Besides hidden object puzzles, you have a few jigsaw puzzles (usually multiple pictures ripped into a few pieces, which upon reassembly will be followed by a hidden object puzzle), "find the difference" puzzles (a picture with dozens of items added on the left, same picture with the items randomly shuffled on the right, you have to move them to have both pictures be identical), and connect-6 puzzles (move balls around on a grid to connect 6, 7 or 8 of t…5 found this helpful
An old style hidden object game with basically just only has hidden object scenes with some story thrown in-between. The scenes aren’t too bad but the rest is just meh.2 found this helpful
fun and a quick play
Things never really seem to leave the established puzzles or expectations of the hidden object rooms. Things are also so blended in they might as well be chameleon's in disguise. The picture and object rebuilding phases are a nice change from the hidden object portions.. But the whole thing feels like a long trip through a river of disappointment.
A decent budget HOG game. Has plenty of HOG segments, some simple puzzle segments, a simple but intriguing plot that moves the story forward. Story presentation is somewhat too simple and the use of English is somewhat rusty. As a budget game its completely fine. You play through it to kill some time and thats it. 6/10
As something of a hidden object hater, I was surprised to find myself kind of enjoying this one. I couldn’t really say it’s a great game even when I was having fun, but it does things that other hidden object games just… well… don’t. I was so glad to have different kinds of object searches: a panorama search, spot the difference/match the photographs, and searching across three photographs. I also liked the placement for a lot of the objects. Some of them were slapdash, as expected, but several were very cleverly hidden in sight, like a smiley face that’s made to look like
some guy’s facial hair
. The timed challenge also made searches refreshingly hectic, while the object detection in the panorama puzzles made the more sinister placements a bit easier to find. The story is garbage, but I don’t really expect much from these games, and I had a blast reading the intelligible but obvious mistranslations. That said, can I really recommend this? The timed puzzles, while fun initially, just require you to retry the chapter or bonus levels if you fail. There are only so many objects in each photograph, so you’ll locate half of the objects from memory if you retr…
