About Japan Train Models - JR East Edition
Japan Train Models, a game that lets you enjoy trains in its entirety, is now available!
There are three modes to play: Pazzle mode, Layout mode, and Encyclopedia mode!
You can enjoy the fascination of trains as much as you want.
Puzzle Mode
This is a game mode in which players create pazzle by attaching train parts at puzzle intervals.
All vehicles appearing in the game are officially licensed!
You can assemble these finely detailed vehicles as many times as you like.
And the vehicles are not the only pazzle you can build.
At the end of each stage, you can create a diorama of the scenery where the cars run.
Layout Mode
You can place buildings and other structures on the layout to create your one and only original layout!
You can also take cool pictures by running the cars you built in the Pazzle mode!
By selecting morning, evening, or night time, you can enjoy the changes in scenery depending on the time of day.
There are also a variety of shooting modes, such as scenery from a train window or from the viewpoint of a cameraman placed on the layout!
In addition, you can move the placed cameraman. Take the best shot from your favorite place and angle!
Encyclopedia Mode
You can check detailed data and 3D models of the vehicles!
Enjoy your favorite cars by enlarging and rotating them.
You can switch the internal camera and move to the carriages to feel as if you are on the train.
You can also see the detailed descriptions of the cars supervised by JR East.

A cute, relaxing puzzle game - great if you're into Japan and trains! I would describe this more as a toy than a game - the puzzles are straightforward snap puzzles in which you assemble various train components, ultimately completing the entire train car. You can choose from three difficulty modes, with two of them providing guidance on where to place the pieces. The game doesn't judge your performance, but it does keep track of your completion time and offers achievement challenges. The layout mode is purely for relaxation and it allows you to choose from several different landscapes to build on, you can decorate each with all kinds of objects, place your trains, and enjoy the photo mode. It evokes the feeling of playing around with a nice model train diorama. The encyclopedia mode is a nice way to learn more about each of the three featured trains, and you will be able to step inside each one to take a closer look. The trains in this game are all licensed but you won't find any real tracks, stations or station melodies, sadly. The presentation is well done, I had one small issue where a certain puzzle piece was invisible against the background (white on white) and the cont…19 found this helpful
Really charming game. I intend to get lost in this for a while yet. I'd love to see more customization rollouts for things like changing road layouts or tracks, changing ground type, and of course adding people and new types of buildings. But so far this is absolutely worth the price of admission, and I'm very much enjoying myself.6 found this helpful
