In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.
However, you can’t just build and research your way to the top – the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track you’ll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.

Chill vibes and Gameplay
Signals are a pain to engineer but all in all an amazing game. Love the variety of trains and buildings, not overly complex either.
Really good game
I enjoy playing Railway Empire. The gameplay and scenarios are engaging and keep me coming back to play again. As many others have said the AI characters are a bit annoying. The late game become challenging to get all required products to a city with congestion from many trains running. Some of the scenarios ask for nearly impossible things. One of the France scnearios you have to build the Eiffel Tower and requires 800 steel and you usually have just over a year to provide it. Which you can't do unless you knew beforehand it was coming. So you have to go back and adjust your game. You also have to sacrifice other cities and Paris itself (kill competing trains not delivering steel to accomplish). Maybe I just prefer playing in sandbox mode... Of the train managment category this is one of the better ones that isn't too complicated to figure out. Works well on Linux! I'm totally done with Microslop...
