If I could describe KANADE in two words, they would be “disappointingly plain.” Literally the only reason I read this game is because I got a review copy on launch, but it took me a year to actually get the motivation to read it, despite this only being a 5-hour moege visual novel. If I had to be honest, I’m not sure who this visual novel is supposed to appeal to. The main girl, Kanade, is a decently likable deredere heroine. However, since this game is only 5 hours, there’s really only so much you can do with her, especially since her half-alien origins don’t really matter that much, outside of some (in)convenient plot twists. It’s a pure love story about “A SONG THAT WILL SAVE THE WORLD.” There’s so little going on in the game, this game's story will keep reminding you that this is in fact the final goal multiple times. Sadly, both the pure love story and the end-of-the-world aspects are incredibly half-assed, both in terms of buildup and execution/payoff. This supposed wholesome pure love story starts with the main duo, Yuto and Kanade, being pen pals. That aspect is nice on paper, but you don’t even really get to see much of their letters outside of an unlockable prequel …

DO NOT BUY. The whole story is boring as f*ck. NOTHING happens for its entire runtime. The end is extremely rushed and pretty nonesensical if you stop and think for 5s. There is 0 tension and every "problem" (not many exist) gets intoduced and sovled within the next 30s. The entire script feels like an boring slice of live with a nonesensical plotline. The only good part is its production quality. va/music and visuals all are very good, but that does not save the terrible plot/script. Dont get me wrong the world and premise is interesting, but nothing gets done with it and as i said the whole story just is boring and this was the worst visual novel i ever read. 3/10 you are better of buying atri (sameish premise, but actualy a good story/script). tbh this one feels like "chat gpt give me a trimed down version of atri and remove any tension".

Too short but very sweet. Kanade's VA did a stellar job on leaving an impression despite this game's length. I'm gonna miss this character a lot. Lastly as obvious as it is, the art is gorgeous which made me pick up the game in the first place. The music's also nothing to scoff at with a nice play done on its lyrics.

An okay game, it is what it says on the tin. You can practically get the gist of it at the very start of it.

i don't really know how to rate this visual novel honestly. The art is good, the music is good, the story is also fine, the romance is also sweet, and if you like visual novel who the romance start early it could be good. But i have a problem in this visual novel, especially in the pacing. I feel like the pace is kinda rushed. Also the "slice of life" aspect in Kanade didn't fulfill my needs for some reason. And then the ending. for me the ending feels like too forced, so i don't really like it. Personally i think this visual novel is okay. But would i recommend it? yes, but only if it's on sale.

A really sweet, adorable visual novel. It is so light, soft, and warm, like a futon after drying in the sunlight. It is short, but it gives a good enough bite of the story for you to enjoy. The only downside is that its developer and publisher has controversies, so it's up to you whether to buy their content.
