Description
Karina Katana is a classic 2D-style action adventure in a world divided into individual levels with 8 exciting biomes.Gameplay
You level up your skills to traverse the different worlds and fight 8 different types of enemies. Every opponent has different strengths and weaknesses. You need to recognize these and use them against them.
Upgrades
Each enemy drops different items when you defeat them. Collect your opponents' items and use them to improve your weapons and skills in the shop.
Items / Skins
Find new items in the newly unlocked biomes and unlock new skins by playing.Speedrunning
Each level also has a timer with which you can see your speed so you can be faster next time. You can also get up to 3 badges for different challenges for each level.

really jerky camera. Both too slow and too fast. EDIT: your walking speed is very slow, the running speed is good. but your character isn't slippery like mario, so I never want to walk to do careful paltforming. Holding the run button all the time very annoying because I always want to be running. When you change directions while walking, or stop and start, the camera jerks quickly to the direction you're moving. This works OK at running speed, but is hard to follow at walking speed - the camera moves too much compared to how slow you move. So I'd remove running entirely, or add an 'always run' option. With this option enabled, holding the run button would instead make karina walk.2 found this helpful

"Karina Katana" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a platformer mostly orientated around cringe because the subject is the developers imaginary girlfriend, who is a badly drawn MS-Paint sprite with crappy animations who has a katana. That's pretty cool and not at all cringey when your imaginary girlfriend has a katana. The platformer itself is 100% jank. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar is…
