About Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth
Experience an interactive retelling of Ken Follett's epic novel set in 12th century England, where you play as three characters—a monk, a noblewoman, and a master builder—whose choices shape the construction of a magnificent cathedral and the fates of those around them. This beautifully hand-painted adventure combines story-driven exploration and decision-making with stunning 2D animation and a full orchestral soundtrack to bring three decades of war, romance, and intrigue to life.

Based on Ken Follett's world-bestseller, ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ retells the story of the village of Kingsbridge in a whole new interactive way. Play as Jack, Aliena and Philip and change the events of the book through exploration, decision-making and dialogues.
12th century, England: In a time of great poverty and war, a small town begins the construction of a cathedral to claim wealth and security for its people. In their struggle to survive, lives and destinies intertwine. Philip the monk becomes prior of the small abbey of Kingsbridge. At the same time, a boy called Jack is raised in the woods by his outlawed mother. His apprenticeship as a stonemason paves his way to become a gifted master builder. Together with the disgraced noblewoman Aliena, Jack and Philip begin the construction of one of the greatest cathedrals England will ever see.

A good point and click game with fantastic art, sound and story. Just keep in mind there is a lot of story. Linux version of the game works without any issues.5 found this helpful
More like a interactive audiobook than a game. The characters are awesome, shining in a chaotic time. Love the oil painting style and the epic sacred music.1 found this helpful
a well-written visual novel, granted the choices matter probably isn't as impactful but i still think it is a good read. i loved it. the voice acting, the art, and the overall storytelling is aligned with what i enjoy. the only cons i had playing the game as i felt like the villains were a bit one dimensional, and the ending was a bit abrupt. the protagonists are all really interesting and fun to play as tho.
This game is great. I'm not even done yet and already love it. It's a visual novel, but feels more like an interactive movie thanks to the art, voice acting and music. The story grabbed me more than expected and I just want to protect all (well, most) of these people. Works well on Steam Deck, but you'll need to change the controller configuration to use the touchpads as mouse and face buttons/trigger as mouse buttons.
Good game. had a blank screen bug on opening after i reached 70% of the story. after poking with game save files... issue solved
