About Spoiler Alert
Spoiler Alert is a video game that tests your platforming skills… in reverse. It’s a comedy platformer that you play backwards.
When you pick this game up, it has already been beaten. The big bad boss is defeated, the coins are collected and the princess has been rescued. Why, oh why?
Unraveling this mystery takes you through the entire game, from the last level to the first. You must uncollect the coins, revive the enemies and avoid nasty time paradoxes. In other words, you must uncomplete the game by playing it backwards.
Everything in this game is so familiar, yet so different and new. You have played it a thousand times before, and at the same time, you have never tried anything like it.

Spoiler Alert is a genuinely clever little concept — playing a platformer in reverse, jumping on enemies to revive them and uncollecting coins, gets a chuckle and keeps things fresh for a while. The hand-drawn art is charming and the mariachi soundtrack fits the goofy tone, even if it loops to the point of madness. That said, the whole thing wore out its welcome before it was over: levels are often just 10 seconds long, the character auto-runs so you're basically just timing a single jump button, and the hit detection is inconsistent enough to be frustrating rather than challenging. I 100%'d all achievements in about an hour, and the trading cards took longer to drop than the game took to beat. If you snag it for under a dollar and want a quick, painless achievement boost, it's a harmless way to spend an afternoon — but don't expect a satisfying platformer.1 found this helpful
Was a bit too short you can finish the whole game in 45 minutes, and maybe 2 bucks for a flash game could be a bit too much but still a nice game if you can get a key from HB.
Funny concept.
Spoiler Alert builds its entire identity around a concept that immediately stands out because of how unusual it is. Most platform games follow a familiar structure where players begin an adventure, overcome enemies, collect rewards, gain abilities, and eventually reach a final confrontation before saving the day. Spoiler Alert completely reverses that idea. The adventure has already ended before players even begin. The villain has already been defeated, the journey has already happened, and every heroic accomplishment has already taken place. Instead of progressing toward the ending, players travel backward through the adventure and slowly undo everything that happened. What initially feels like a simple joke quickly becomes a surprisingly clever gameplay mechanic. Rather than collecting coins and rewards, players return them to their original locations. Enemies that were previously defeated come back to life, destroyed objects are restored, and completed actions gradually disappear. Everything players usually consider progress suddenly becomes something that must be reversed. The game creates an interesting situation where years of gaming habits begin working against the player b…
It's a clever concept, but it doesn't really deliver. The levels wouldn't actually work going forwards, which undermines the design. There's a speedrun timer despite the character auto-running at fixed speed. Most frustratingly, the game will fail to recognize the jump input fairly frequently, which is a cardinal sin in a platformer.
A fun concept in this jump’n’run delivers about an hour of entertainment and excitement! Worth grabbing on sale! Story: 10/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Graphics: 6/10 Achievements: 7/10 Overall: 7/10 Rostfleck
