Kila: Hourbound

Really good for a free title, and heavily reminds me of some nostalgic 2000's console games. I'd like to say congratulations and phenomenal work to the 26 graduates who brought this to life! The mechanics are solid, and the rewind puzzles work great. It also looks and runs great on the Deck. The only thing is there doesn't seem to be a reason to engage in combat apart from the bosses, but I still enjoyed!

Enjoyed the levels in this little adventure; it felt like they were optimized for both chill exploration and skill expression with the rewind ability. I was def entering the flow state while completing each level after getting the hang of the abilities. My main critique would be some of the collisions, as they got in the way of some of the platforming or sometimes walking. Overall super well done!!

game looks like it would be a fun platformer... if it worked. in the first tutorial I clipped through objects and fell through the floor 3 times in unfinished invisible walls, had the dash break and go straight up instead of forward, and the time reverse make me hover in 1 spot instead of rewinding time. couldn't even finish the tutorial. it needs serious love from the devs as it feels like it was an Ai generated broken game.

Honestly, this was a pretty pleasant surprise. For a free game, there's a lot of quality packed into it. The rewind mechanic is easily the standout feature and the puzzles make good use of it without feeling overly complicated. It reminded me of the kind of action-adventure games I used to play years ago, which gave it a nice nostalgic feel. The controls felt solid, the visuals were clean, and everything ran smoothly during my playthrough. My only real criticism is that regular combat didn't always feel that important compared to the puzzle-solving and boss encounters. Still, that didn't take away much from the experience. Overall, it's a well-made game that clearly had a lot of effort put into it, and it's absolutely worth checking out, especially considering it's free.
