-Destructoid

I am both surprised and delighted to hear of a VR cat game where sometimes the cats are kaiju-sized and will destroy a city if you insufficiently entertain them.
-RockPaperShotgun

Note:
It’s possible to play Kitten’d without a VR headset.
This is however NOT the way the game was meant to be played as you lose out on a big part of the experience and things might not work as well.

This game is amazing and deserves to be played by everyone and everything, living or non-living alike... On a serious (as can be) note though, this game is adorable. It is just so adorable that it makes me want to cry. Everything related to kittens is captured perfectly, from their squeaky mews to their deep purrs to their adorable (and deadly!) snarls to even the fact that those kittens are absolute demons that you have to take care of, in order to make sure they don't annihilate your house (or an entire city). There are a few things that I think could be improved, and most of them are UI related. The most notable one being that the game doesn't have an actual pause option. When you pull up the menu the time still goes on, which can make the small feline chaos seem extremely intimidating at times. Another thing is that while it is true that the game is intended to be played with VR and that it won't be the same without it, it is still playable and quite fun. It seems that the only things that you'll be missing out on are the petting animations, which are admittedly so adorable. I haven't tried the VR, and will probably update this review if I ever get to try it out as intended.…

pretty fun so far, simple multitasking/arcade game about managing multiple kittens, taking care of their needs and dealing with environmental hazards. also the cats are named after your steam friends and i think that's neat

Oh god, don't This is like a mobile game but every message notification makes you drop everything you're carrying, the world goes gray and A GIANT FREAKING CELLPHONE SCREEN, RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR FACE wants your attention, without warning. It will show ginormous spinning coins with deafening sound. There's no locomotion, if you can't reach something physically then you're cooked. Everything looks blown out to white just like the screens show, it's worse in VR. Every action is very awkward, to pick a cat you point and hit a button to attach it to your floating VIVE controllers (no matter what you're actually using, it's those always). You can't pet them, just attach them to your hand so they hang limp, and then eject them at a distance with another button press. Objectives are odd but I guess they would be fine if everything else was fixed. On the good side: the cats are cute, even though they are the same with just different colors. But I wouldn't suffer the game just for that.
