Kromaia is an unconventional shoot-’em-up that attempts to break free from the genre’s traditional constraints by introducing full three-dimensional freedom of movement. Developed and published by Kraken Empire, it reimagines the classic arcade shooter not as a linear, forward-scrolling experience, but as a spatial challenge where players navigate open arenas while under constant threat. This shift in perspective gives the game a distinctive identity, though it also creates a learning curve that can be as demanding as it is intriguing. The defining feature of Kromaia is its six-degrees-of-freedom movement system. Players are no longer confined to a fixed plane or direction; instead, they can move in any direction within large, enclosed environments. Each stage functions as a contained space filled with enemies and objectives, requiring players to search for key items needed to progress. This introduces an exploratory element rarely seen in the genre, as success depends not only on shooting skill but also on spatial awareness and navigation. Fast-paced and pretty challenging. Really striking and stunning audiovisual landscape. Works with my HOTAS as well, although flight stick sensitivity is a bit weird. A unique single-player shooter with a lot of freedom to move around.1 found this helpful
Cool game for kill, annihilate, destroy and decimate. If you are the one who kills everybody...who is really the bad guy? Needs some drum and bass or jungle Much better with high discount
https://youtu.be/sl-BeU-97hA Rough in numerous ways but nailing the flight controls for a 'space' ship so smoothly it's worth checking out.
This is like the version of a game you get working, and then say ok now lets fix the core issues and make it good. Except they didn't. It's frustrating as this could be a much better game with a little more work. Firstly turn off glow and depth of field completely if you play this as otherwise its a myopic mess. The keyboard and mouse controls are heading in the right direction but are frustratingly not quite right. The behaviour of the enemy units is a bit rubbish to be polite. Visually it is interesting, but then also a hot mess at the same time. I wish there was a better version of this game...
