About KRUM - Edge Of Darkness
KRUM has a unique combat system that is simple to learn but tricky to master that’s unlike almost any other action video game out there. It’s nothing like a click-and-slash button masher. Button mashing will only get you killed. Each weapon has a few easy to execute but brutal combos. The nature of the fights suggests that you will have to wait your turn and plan your timing, in order to strike or parry at the very best moment.
The game leans heavily on action, but when the combats are so perilous and gritty you'll often find yourself in what feels like a stand-off. Either battling monsters or common warriors, you will be eagerly waiting for your turn to come. You will face countless fearsome mobs and grotesque beasts, hidden deadly traps, powerful demon knights and dragons.

There is no other way for you but, go on a quest to save them...
As you progress in your path, you realize, that there is something more, something bigger, something terrifying behind this.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate KRUM's old-school action RPG style and grim atmosphere, with some finding the weighty combat rewarding once you learn enemy patterns. However, the game is held back significantly by severe technical issues including poor optimization, framerates dropping even on capable hardware, bugs with enemy physics and camera behavior, and a protagonist that moves too slowly, making the experience frustrating despite its low price point and ambitious solo-developer roots.
KRUM – Edge of Darkness is a grim, unapologetically old-school action RPG that wears its ruggedness as both a strength and a flaw. Developed by HA Studio Ltd. and published by SA Industry, it embraces a style of fantasy storytelling and combat design that feels pulled from an earlier era of PC gaming. The premise is direct and familiar: you return from a peaceful outing only to discover your village reduced to ashes, your family gone, and monstrous forces to blame. It’s a classic revenge-driven setup, but it suits the game’s tone, giving you an immediate emotional hook and a clear sense of purpose. The world you enter afterward is bleak and violent, filled with demons, corrupted beasts, and desolate landscapes that reinforce the feeling of a realm slipping into ruin. The combat system defines KRUM more than anything else, and it aims for a style that values timing, discipline, and weighty actions over flashy combos. Every swing of a sword or axe has a sense of commitment to it, and the stamina system forces you to think about when to attack, when to block, and when to withdraw. Success depends less on button-mashing and more on reading enemy movements, striking when safe, and mana…1 found this helpful
The worst game i've ever played1 found this helpful
Fun game overall but the player moves too slow
KRUM is a rough, clunky action RPG that wears its one-man development on its sleeve — and not always in a flattering way. The combat has a certain weighty, old-school charm once you learn to read enemy patterns, but the severe optimization issues make it hard to actually enjoy, with framerates tanking even on hardware that handles modern AAA titles without breaking a sweat. Bugs pile up fast: expect erratic enemy physics, questionable camera behavior, and lighting so blown out you'll be reaching for settings menus before you even leave the starting village. For $5 you get a scrappy, linear hack-and-slash that's more impressive as a solo dev achievement than as an actual game worth sitting down with. I wanted to root for it, but the performance problems alone make it hard to recommend.
It's a good hack n slay MMO and a good adventure game.
