Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society

After finishing Labyrinth of Refrain, I was excited to purchase this game and get started. Labyrinth of Galleria is very much like its predecessor -- if they got rid of all the good parts and cranked all the annoying parts to 100x intensity. The story is worse in all regards: the characters are unlikeable, the plot makes very little sense, and it becomes very confusing once we introduce the [spoiler] multiple timelines [/spoiler]. The gameplay is the same as in Labyrinth of Refrain but much much more grindy. I know all the reviews said that -- but I really couldn't fathom exactly HOW much grinding this game requires. I just beat Act 2 ([spoiler]The Discordance[/spoiler]) and I have 230 hours in the game -- and that's WITH following a guide. In order to prepare for the endgame you need to transfer your soul puppets in order to increase their soul clarity (which increase their base stats). I spent 2 weeks alone just leveling and transferring. It takes about 5 iterations of leveling your puppets from level 1 to 99 and transferring before they'll reach maximum clarity. This is an indirect sequel to Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk and, saying it outright, it's a downgrade. The core dungeon crawling party gameplay has received some nice QoL. Yet they introduced non-static dungeons in the manner of roguelites, which has been used to pad out the game and isn't all that fun nor engaging anyway. Along with even more obtuse progression goals and typical Japanese RPG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the story is the only reason to dredge through hours and hours of tedium. I liked the story. If you steel yourself for the slog of a grind and have a guide, you might also like the story and see the end to it.

Never have I seen an RPG waste my time quite like this one, and perhaps will never see an endgame waste my time like this ever again.

Very good story. At times a bit weird but in the end really nice.
