Labyrinth of the Witch is a simple roguelite/dungeon explorer game originally for Android/iOS that was ported to PC. This paid version has all of the characters that you would've needed to purchase, and has no microtransactions or other mobile shenanigans. Positives: + Simple and easy to learn. The "Puzzle Dungeons" are a fun and interesting way to learn all of the mechanics of the game. + Cute and colourful pixel art + Addicting gameplay Negatives: - Repetitive music. What little music is here is decent, but gets repetitive really fast. I ended up muting it after half an hour. - No option to customize controls. - Once you unlock a new character, there's no reason to ever play as the starter character (Claire) again. The other characters have better stats and a bonus trait. I assume this was to provide incentives for you to purchase the other characters in the mobile version. - Expensive for what it is. Compared to other roguelites/roguelikes you can find here on steam, there's not much content here. - Not a roguelike. This is more of a "roguelite." You can keep your items after a dungeon, and bring them into others. There are checkpoints. And if you die, you have a one-time revi…50 found this helpful
Its a port from a JP mobile game. Its not new. I wasnt able to set my buttons the way I wanted, and the game seems a bit too small(150mb), so I got a refund before my 2 hours was up. Sorry I have to be like that but recently many games on Steam have been....lets just say "unfinished" to be nice.26 found this helpful
Labyrinth of the witch is Mystery Dungeon type of game. dungeon with random layout, random loot, random enemy encounter. Pros(+): + Closest thing you can get for pokemon mystery dungoen experience at PC. + Artstyle is good, weapon/shield used actually shows on player hand. + Addicting gameplay loop, slap monster, loot item, repeat. Grey(*): * Game quite short, don't expect 40 hours worth of gameplay fun here. * Compared to standard MD game, this one is like roguelite where level are reset every run. * Small content equal small amount of BGM. You'll listen to same bgm over and over. Cons(-): - Story almost nonexistent, the gameplay is the only reason you'll play this. - Unbalanced playable. Starter character has no use after unlocking any character. - Super expensive shop item, where you have no reason to buy anything at shop except expansion slot. All in all, the game is very good nostalgia for your mystery dungeon itch. Though, the very short and small content the game can offer wouldn't keep you playing this for very long. Shame the game don't offer more content nor adding story mode for the game. note: If you expect for PMD nostalgia, its better to get Shiren the Wanderer,…5 found this helpful
An enjoyable Mystery Dungeon Mobile Port. Maybe not at the same level as the Shiren the Wanderer, Touhou Genso Wanderer, or Dragon Fangz series, it's a fun little romp that seems to take little bits from the previous 3 and create something new.2 found this helpful
Not even an hour in and this game has already put so many other mystery dungeon games to shame. This game provides quite a few small quality of life improvements on the mystery dungeon formula, with the most mindblowing of them being holding the run button and a direction will automatically walk through the passages between rooms, no more bumping into walls as you make arbitrary left and right turns moving between rooms. I'm honestly worried this game may ruin the sequel to one of my favorite games next year because it's just such an obvious improvement in quality of life that I don't expect will be picked up by other mystery dungeon games..1 found this helpful
