I really need a hug after this ૮꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ྀི꒱ა Very beautiful game, I loved it entirely!! The graphics and overall aesthetics are stunning and highly atmospheric, additionally the soundtrack is amazing. I like how the ambience maintains a subtle eerie tension all the time, as if something is supposed to happen at any moment, while the player is unaware of what direction the story will even lead to. The gameplay might feel somewhat slow-paced at times but it allows the writing to be in focus. The story - or not even the story itself but rather the themes it delves into - is kind of simple but written in such an ornate and simultaneously raw way; the descriptions, introspectives, feelings, etc are all truly well-done, I felt so understood that I cried and worsened my headache which only made me want to sob more. Pure melancholy mixed with an ungodly (literally) amount of dread but all in a gorgeous and moderately romantisizable way. I must be going through some mid-life crisis because it feels like nearly everything I play destroys me lately.

This game is a deeply haunting experience, I’d say it’s a hidden indie gem and recommend giving it a shot to everyone even if a topic feels harsh. I’m also here to share something a bit more personal and to express my gratitude to author - as a person with depressive disorder, recovering from ptsd and a suicidal attempt, through this piece of art I finally feel seen and heard. Understanding is such a rare thing to encounter in our world and I treasure it dearly. Without hesitation I can say that this game is one of my top picks and I use it as therapeutic experience when hard times come. It might be a coincidence, but as I started playing this it began to rain outside. I almost fell asleep to the sound actually. This game is beautiful. It's raw and visceral and left me feeling a bit exposed - it felt like I was peering inside my own head. Sad but very comforting, even the damp, wet, lonely coldness of rain brings a kind of warmth.

This game has so much deep even when it's so short, you won't regret it

i literally cannot comprehend how this game is not more popular. land of ghosts is a sad and beautiful story set in a world that i can only assume is a manifestation of suicide. this game has some of the most gorgeous art i've ever seen in a visual novel, from the landscapes to the cutscenes to the buildings and the highway. the doomed yuri was so short and tragic and beautiful, it had me bawling my eyes out. just perfect, 10/10, i'm in love with this visual novel. you will not regret reading it.
