This core idea of this game is great. It’s an old-school JRPG style rogue lite. There are different classes with unique skills and passives. The Mets progression also seemed promising. But the game sadly feels incomplete. The game only has 3 acts and they all feel the same. The hardest act is actually act 1 because your party is fairly weak still. But if you can clear act 1 it was basically a guaranteed win. And the Meta progression quickly helps you get to a point where you reliably can clear act 1. Enemies artwork looks nice and is unique. But every fight feels the same. There are hardly mechanics to engage with. By the end of every run I’m not even using spells to make enemies weakened or vulnerable. I just hit attack and go basically. Your heroes unique skills also feel bland. You also need to essentially take a certain number of turns to use a skill. But by the time any of your heroes have taken enough turns to use a skill, the enemies are basically already dead. The items in the game are also one dimensional. You have basically nuker gear, tank gear, and support/mage gear. Theres no difficulty adjuster or reason to do a run over either. The meta progression just make…

I'm a big fan of these multi-path branching Rougelikes that seem to have been popping up over the last few years. Taking that and mixing it with a SNES JRPG art style sold me out of the gate. Game can be brutally hard when you start, but evens out pretty quickly after some upgrades. Pros: Great art style Fun Enemy Design Easy To Learn Cool Unlocks Cons: A little short for my taste (full achievements in about 2 hours of playtime) Not a lot of variety to bosses, or as far as I can tell secret bosses (or random bosses like Slay the Spire, for example) Some minor technical issues, but nothing a few patches can't fix Overall, I'm happy with it and can't wait to see what it can become with some updates, or what comes next from 30 Minute Games. Solid 7.5/10 for me. Great work.

A 40ish-Year-Old Gamer's Review I'm pretty sure you can finish this game in about 3 hours. I have over 15. That should tell you everything. As a gamer rapidly approaching the age where I make involuntary noises when standing up, I wasn't expecting a simple pixel RPG to completely hijack my free time. Yet here we are. Before the last major update, I spent hours running zones, farming, and generally doing "one more run" until suddenly it was way past bedtime. The simplicity is what hooked me. It respected my time. No battle passes. No daily chores disguised as content. No 47 different currencies. Just a game that lets you sit down, have fun for 30 minutes, and then walk away. In theory. In reality, it made me dust off my Steam Deck so I could sneak in runs during lunch breaks at work whenever I needed a mental reset. The music deserves special mention. It gave me flashbacks to playing FF3 on the SNES (FFVI if you're one of those people). I bought this because it reminded me of the old Nintendo games that i loved when i was a kid. Thankfully i was not disappointed. I felt like i had gone back in time but with a modern flare. I do recommend this game. It is both challenging and rewarding!
